I have working on my family history now for over 40 years. |
Currently I am working on locating the members of 17th Airborne Division, 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment Combat Team, 3rd Battalion, I Company. This is my Uncle's unit, he was KIA at Col de Braus in France.
My reason for joining find a grave is to remember those friends and family members who have passed on. I add each memorial one at a time with the information that I have complied.
I will gladly make corrections, add additional information or make family links to any of my memorials. Click on the "Edit" tab and then click on "Suggest a correction or provide additional information" link on a memorial about anyone I have listed.
Transfer requests will be made within the Findagrave guidelines, for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Transfer requests: please include your relationship to the person.
With this request, include your Findagrave member number. I happily make all corrections/additions within a few days.

I see you are interested to know more about your uncles unit. Do you have the book "Operation Dragoon - Autopsy of a Battle" by Jean-Loup Gassend ISBN 979-7643-580-7 It provides a wealth of good information you will find on them. Best regards Andy

|DebraLee||Edna Erickson photos|
Someone in Norway asked me tonight to look for an Edna Erickson/Minneapolis address in 1966.
This man's mother received Edna's letter stating "A nephew would be taking her to her brother's farm for Christmas".
Man in Norway doesn't see Edna in his family tree and hopes to learn if/how she may have been related to him? Did your Edna have a daughter or ever live on Bryant Ave. in North Minneapolis? I haven't a lot to go on here...
Kind regards, DebraLee

Were the couple you sent possibly an aunt and uncle?
There was very little to go on for his parents.

Thank you for this information!
|KDQ||Herbert Philip Starken # 161994516|
You left edits for Herbert Philip Starken advising his parents were Philip Herbert Starken and Emma Thomas Starken.
The Minnesota birth index indicates his parents were George Starken and Kathrine Thomas Starken.
Were the names George and Kate nicknames?
The 1920 Census for George gives his birth state as Wisconsin while Kate was born in Minnesota.
I also didn't find a sister for the Herbert Starken buried in Omaha.
I am missing the 1910 Census for Herbert as well.
When I tried to back track on George and Kathrine I did not find any Census data further back than 1920.
Thanks so much for your help.

As I go through the cemetery I add everyone as I go so that they are linked to their family members...either through marriage or parental. I do this because some people won't have surviving family members to make them a Find A Grave page. As I've done my own ancestry I find these links very helpful. I realize she is still alive but Find A Grave fills in unknown if I don't put in a date.
If you are a family member and would still like me to remove DeeEtta please let me know and I will do so immediately.

My brother-in-law is great-grandson of Endre Herried's brother Amund Herreid (they spelled their last names differently. Saebbe and Saby are the same name. Anna Thormodsdtr Saby was Endre's second wife.
