They say we die twice. Once when we die, and then again when the last person who remembers us dies. One way of keeping the memory of someone alive is to record their burial place on a site such as this.

I'm primarily a family historian so many of the memorials I put on this site, or manage, are members of my extended family, and their extended families.

I like visiting cemeteries and photograph graves whenever I can, so some of the graves I have added are those of people I don't know - I hope I can help others to find a loved one or ancestor.

Please feel free to use any information or images I have uploaded for personal use (only), including posting on other genealogy sites.

Please send me a message through this site if you have a correction, or if you find the grave of a family member and would like it transfered to you. I'm happy to do so.

RE: Margaret Elizabeth Caines Booth?
Hi Ros,

Yes, your Margaret is a bit of a mystery, I have had a look but can't find any clues for her.
The death record for Margaret Booth and matching the date of death you had lists her place of birth as Ireland, but it also states that her husband's name is Thomas not Timothy, but her death notice in the paper definitely says Timothy....so a few inconsistencies with this one!!!
Could she be a convict's child that came over with her convict mother? Or an Irish famine orphan, did they come to Tas?

Best of luck....hope you find the answers soon!

Cheers

Katrina

Margaret Elizabeth Caines Booth?
Elizabeth Caines is my 2x great grandmother and she was born in Hobart in 1836 and married Nicholas Homewood Ray. Margaret Booth was born in Ireland and died in Hobart, but was definitely not the daughter of Susan Phipps and Francis Caines. There is further evidence in Francis Caines' will where he leaves part of his estate to his son-in-law Nicholas Ray. Please check Margaret Booth's death record for confirmation at this link.

Hello Esco, thank you so much for sending me the photo of Dennis Bacon's grave, this has led me to so much more info, most of which you have provided. Much appreciated. Kaye

Ok, tag you're it. The photo you posted was put in as a grave photo instead of "person". Please remove and repost so that the index does not incorrectly say someone took a photo of the gravestone. -Rebecca

RE: Rev Thomas Carpenter Carr (#157742184) in St Hilary's Wallasey
I have been back to St Hilary's and uncovered more of the stone. As you thought, there are no other's mentioned on it.
There is however a reference to his serving at a parish in Ireland.
I've updated the photo's on his 'page' and once again - please use them as you wish.
Regards
Mike

Rev Thomas Carpenter Carr (#157742184) in St Hilary's Wallasey
I've added a couple of photo's of his gravestone to the page that you created for him.
Unfortunately the stone is badly overgrown. I will be back at St Hilary's in the next week or so and will try to uncover some more of it in case other names are inscribed on it.
Regards
Mike
