Bio Photo In accepting management through sponsorship of the 58,986 memorials created by my friend, Marjorie, I intend to honor her memory. A loving, dedicated person, she made significant contributions to Find A Grave through all the records she and her husband collected over the years. She is remembered well by all of her Find A Grave family.

Please know that I am only transferring memorials per Find A Grave guidelines:
"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."

It also states: "Please remember that there are thousands of contributors to Find A Grave, and it is highly likely that some of those contributors will actually be part of your family tree and share some of your ancestors.
Also, the goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal is to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it."

Please use the "EDIT" tab on any memorial page for edits and corrections.

I was so grateful when a kind person photographed my infant sister's gravestone! Find A Grave is all about helping others and honoring those who have gone before us.

Grant County and Otter Tail County, Minnesota memorials are my main focus.

God bless you all.

Winans transfers

It's Christmas here. I don't really know how to thank you for the transfers, other than to tell you that you are an exceptional person.

Most people can't change their positions on issues, but you have.

Thank you so very much!

Burt to Koefod Link?
Hi, I'm very new to my ancestry search, but this site and the work you do is amazing. I was adopted (in MN) in 1984, and just this year, through a DNA site was able to determine I am related to the Burt family. I also found I am related to the Wheeler family, one of whom one of which married a Koefod. I was wondering if it is coincidence that your name is Burt and you posted for Lawrence Robert Koefod, or would you be able to provide insight if/how the Burt's and Koefod's are connected? You can private message me back at if you like. Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you, I appreciate all of your efforts. I included several edits, not sure if they've been processed yet though. After having dinner with my Dad last night, it 100% confirmed this was his great uncle. Without contributors like you, our out-of-state family members would be lost forever.

RE: James & Ida Wynans & family
I must say that I respect your thoughts on this matter. Please believe that.

You last response hints that you cannot always trust volunteers to do the right thing. Your response also suggests that your promise to Marjorie is the most important thing to you.

The most important thing to me is my family. I am fully willing to transfer any of my family to children, husbands, grandchildren, etc. And I have done so.

I know that you value family, but it's very narrow. I value all of my family, and you value your promise to Marjorie.

I'll choose not to research and collect the information on my family and then send it along to you. I am not a trusting person either. I don't want to have to look at all memorials, to see if and when you include the information I send. I don't want to have differences with you about including living people, etc.

It just goes on and on, and is way easier if I manage the memorial. Another example, you have misspelled Ida's last name in this note. It's Winans not Wynans.

Another issue for me is that you have tacked on my corrections and left the misinformation intact in the memorial. I don't do that for my corrections. I embed and correct the misinformation in the original memorial.

Finally, in the body of the existing memorial, Ida Mae's name is misspelled Ida May. I would appreciate your changing that rather than taking on the correction at the bottom.

Thank you for hearing me out.

I do have respect for your thoughts and feelings, I just don't agree with them.

Best Wishes,
Steve Burton

You are free to transfer 1st cousins and other family, if you choose.

Why would you choose not to transfer to me as a family member, other than you wish to follow Find A Grave GUIDELINES?

St. Patricks Cemetery - Collis
Hello Mr. Burt,
Can you tell me who the sextant is for St. Patrick's cemetery in Collis and if there are any funeral homes in proximity? My great grandmother is buried there as is her daughter, who is buried without a gravemarker. I would like to install a grave marker for her.

Thank you.
