I am recovering from a stroke and doing well. My right hand doesn't function well when it comes to typing, so this is slow and frustrating. Hopefully, with a little time this will improve.The best way to get my attention is to call me at 519 716 4359. |
First, one of my peeves. From now on I will absolutely IGNORE edits which give birth and death locations using the present day name. I will accept ONLY the historical name in effect at the time of the event. If that can't be done - FORGET IT. I would sooner leave it blank. Do as you wish on memorials you create - leave mine alone!
All of us are mortal.
Which is why we prepare a will to state our wishes when our time comes.
In preparing for our very certain demise, we should appoint a Steward who will look after our FaG pages if we pass on, or are somehow incapacitated.
Karen Tober, member #46901145 is my Steward.
To appoint a Steward, simply e-mail your wishes to email@example.com
Expecting to be around for a while,

They show the correct way before I import them and also if you click on them to fully open. It is only in the "thumbnail" that they are sideways. I don't know why this happening and am open to suggestions for how to correct this.

Thank You for the information on their marriage. I added the information to both parties. Hope all is well with you?
|Bruce Uttley||RE: August Schultzke|
You were right to unlink August Schultzke as a son of Johanna Rohmel Schultzke/Metzloff. The obit of John Schultzke 1891-1939 listed August as a 'brother' but in fact he was a 'step-brother'. Johanna must have been the second wife of John Schultzke Sr. who died about 1890-91. See the 1891 Canada Census for "Mrs John Schultzke" in Waterloo South for the evidence.
|Bruce Uttley||RE: Johanna Rohmel Metzloff|
The 'widow' Johanna Schultzke married August Metzloff in Waterloo on 18Sep1983. Her first husband, John Schultzke, had died shortly before. Johanna's maiden name, from her headstone, must have been Rohmel.
|Catherine D||Thank you|
Thank you for creating a page for my great grandmother Elsie Gingerich. Did you know her?

Thanks Allan for your quick reply. I have gone ahead and prepared profiles for John, Mary and Alma Starr with what little info I had. Take care.

|KVN||Starr Headstones in St Clements Cemetery|
Hello Allan, I have located another Starr headstone in St Clement's Cemetery in Preston. It has the names of John A Starr (1880-1969), wife Mary C. Dopp (1881-1963) and daughter Alma Marie (1904-1992). If you think they may be your relations and you would like this photo, please set up profiles for them and I'll add the picture.
Just let me know. Thanks

Regarding your request, I found his flat marker today but it was very dirty from the weather and was partially covered in dirt - Tried washing but the dirt turned into mud and could not bring it to a presentable condition. Will go back later when it is drier and I'm better prepared and will
finish it off
