RE: Bessie Allen
Mary Ann: I misunderstood about the photo, I thought you had a photo of my grandmother and step grandfather but it was of their marker. I don't need this as I have photos of their marker .. I wonder what happened to the flowers that we put in the vase. I guess someone took them out. Anyway thank you.

Rhonda

RE: Bessie Allen
I would love to have a copy of the photo you have of Bessie and Walter Allen. Bessie May Ward Allen is my grandmother (my father's Mother). How are you related to her? Walter is my Dad's step father. My grandmothers' first husband was William Ellis Lawson, Sr. My email address is

rhondacook1950@gmail.com

I would love to hear from you.

I have been very disorganized about photographing. I have some severe back problems. So, I will work in one section for a while until my back starts hurting, then get in my car and rest and then sometimes go to another section. Some sections are easier for me to walk than others. I usually do only about 20-25 photos once or twice a month. I am not by any means disabled but deal with chronic pain, so I try to baby myself a little. My husband and I do this together. I use my phone, as I go, to see if a memorial is in place and if there is a request or if the memorial just needs a headstone photo.
I try to get photos of headstones that seem to be sinking or fading, so that we can get those on record before it is too late. Memorial Park is in good shape compared to some cemeteries I have visited, but we have had to dig a few out, especially those under trees. My grandson is 10 and he loves to do the digging. lol
If you will let me know what sections you are working on, I will move on to other sections. BJ

Mary Ann,
I am happy to have honored your photo request, especially now that I know it was an important one for you. Elizabeth is buried on the southern end of Section E, third or 4th row back from the west. It is in an area where the there are kind of small rolling little hills. I have also been taking photos at Memorial Park, so I am there at least a couple of times a month. If you cannot find it, I will be happy to meet you there. Just let me know but don't wait too long because this old brain soon forgets. lol
I am finding that more and more large cemeteries are not willing to assist people like us. I guess because genealogy research is so popular, they would never get anything else done. I have also found that due to theft of iron fences and such, people in small towns with cemeteries on their property can be reluctant to allow photographs to be taken. And that is a shame! Keep up the good work and maybe one day, Memorial Park will be 100% photographed (I say this knowing that yesterday, there were 6 or 7 new graves being dug. It is on going project.) Have a great day! Barbara

Mary Ann,
I fulfilled your request for a headstone photo for Mrs. Briggs today. I also set up a memorial for her husband, William Henry Briggs, # 175300879. If the Briggs are your family, I will be happy to transfer William's memorial to you. Just fill our an edit and be sure to include your ID# and your relationship. Thanks, BJ
