I am a retired Pharmacist; I have been married 43 years and have 4 beautiful children. My wife and I look forward to traveling, antiquing and spending time with our families. I have lived in Tyler, Tx since 1952; originally from Hugo, Ok. Searching family history and going to cemeteries is a hobby my wife and I enjoy together.|
Linking familes together from generation to generation is fascinating and challenging.
Remembering past generations seems to have become a lost art and helping others connect with their families is indeed a pleasure.
In addition to photo requests, I always try to take other pictures, especially those with same surnames as the requests. If these are not on FAG
I make a memorial for them.If any are your relatives I will gladly transfer them to you.

Hi Jim, I wanted to thank you for posting the photo of the marker for my father's aunt, Virginia Turner Carlat. We knew where she was buried, but didn't have a photo of the marker. Thank you very much.
I just came across an email that either I forgot to thank you or forgot to delete. I so want to thank you for getting the nice marker photo for George and posting it on Find A Grave.

Hi, Jim. Long time, no hear. My neighbor and I stopped by to see your grandmother a few months ago.
She always asks me if she knows me.
About the headstone for Valtie POTTER Bass: I am wondering if there is writing on other sides of the four-sided marker.
I cannot find the burial place for Valtie's spouse, John Wilburn Bass. I suspect he may be buried with her. What do you think?
PS I have started something new. I am asking photo volunteers to write down what the headstones say on paper, then give that info to us when they upload the photo.
There are hundreds of headstone photos that I cannot read.
Thank you and bless you for all you do.

Jim, The death certificate plainly states she is buried Rock Spring but guess could be wrong
If I read you correctly you have seen her marker at Providence proving the the death certificate is wrong. Not the 1st time I have experienced that. Thanks for your help and please let me know SEM-SC

Thank you for such a pleasant surprise in placing Leila's memorial into my care. Find-A-Grave is such a great success only because of people like yourselves that dedicate many hours and money out of pocket transcribing and creating all of these memorials. Thank you and your wife for all of your contributions.
My mother was born and raised 8 miles east of Henderson, Texas and I spent many summers as a kid there....oh what great memories. What a surprise to find some of my former Mississippi relatives right there in Rusk County, Texas.
Thank you so much,
I noticed all the work you put in on this cemetery and I wanted to thank you for your dedication to preserving our history. Slick

There is a Facebook post going around and it is the Purple Heart of Kenneth B Scoggins. The gentleman I'm sure listed in the grave you posted at Hope Cemetery in Henderson Texas. Do you have information on any family member to contact to return the Purple Heart to?
