Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a full time librarian and a when-I-have-the-time hobbyist graver.

My father was an avid fan of Find a Grave and he introduced me to this site before he passed away in 2008. Memorial # 46644773

You can feel free to use creative commons with the photos I take if you'd like to use them in your genealogy or family history projects. (But please do not add my photos to other websites without giving proper credit).

I LOVE to find relatives and homes for the memorials I manage, so IF you see a memorial you'd like TRANSFERRED, I'm more than happy to do so, just put in the request via the "EDIT" option. (Will transfer ANY except those in my Family Virtual Cemetery). ***Also, to expedite edits please use the EDIT tab that Find a Grave provides in the upper right hand corner of all memorials. "Suggested corrections" should be used for transfer requests or other edits that are not options under the EDIT tab.***

Please do not send me requests to change the entry of MAIDEN name for Males whose name origin indicates that they are LATINO. This name is often their mother's maiden name and used for lineage purposes. Maybe a suggestion would be for Find A Grave to add an entry space for this.

My family lines are Schmidt/Wassem and Johnsen/Hale. My husband's family lines are Alves/Carvalho and Bacellar/Huet.

RE: John & Mary Manta's graves
Well, obviously I don't tune in to this site very often! You so kindly sent me info about some relatives (John and Lena Manta)... thank you very much for looking. Since then, a cousin who knew them has been in touch so I will ask her where they might have been laid to rest. Again, many thanks!

I was wondering if you could take a photo of this grave site and post it to his page. This is my husbands father. George Edward Preston, Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, Vale of Peace, A51, Lot 4472, Space 3. Thank you for all you do with Find A Grave! I use it often.

Wondering if I could have a photo taken of the grave site of George Edward Preston. Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, Vale of Peace, A15, Lot 4472, space 3. (the next time you are in the area). This is my husband's father. We live in Arizona and it is difficult for us to get to California. Thank you for all you do for find a grave! I use it often.

I updated information on his parents and where he was born and died. This information came from my great aunt Stella Renfro Bell, his wife. She was the keeper of the genealogy in our family and most has now fallen on me.

Do you know if Clyde was married to Sarah Idalene Appleton who is buried in the space next to him? I am asking because Sarah is a cousin of mine. Thanks.

Jay Houston Farnham
Hello, I take it are in charge of this site, appreciate all the work many of you do to help so many.
Jay Houston Farnham, had a birth name of Bonnie Alan Garvin (# 83397285). Just within the last few months I found a record where in 1918 his name was scratched out and Jay Houston Farnham was written in. I find him on a couple marriage records, seems he was married 3 times. One his father is correct Charles Abram Garvin and mother Mary Rafter. The other father as Charles Farnham and Mary Rafter. Now all families personal records have him as Bonnie Alan Garvin. Even the 1920 census with his first wife Elizabeth and daughter Laverne Velma Garvin. his mother was married twice. At 19 she married James Hobart Garvin who died within 3 days of the birth of his daughter Edith, Mary Rafter (my gt grandmotheer then married my gt grandfather Charles Abram Garvin brother to her first husband. She died at 40 years of age. He went by the Farnham name with his next two marriages. No children with either of them. Why he used two names I have no idea. I have a newspaper article when after he retired as a DDS he went back to work as a dentist, under the name of Farnham.
Any way he is listed on Find A Grave under both names. I will most likely never learn the details. Was he adopted though he looks much like my grandmother in the eyes. Photo of him with his dad and sibblings on his page {# 83397285}. That is all, just to let you know he is listed in two places under different names.
I am glad to have photo of headstone and I see his third wife is also buried next to him.
As I found her as well.
I love a mystery, but this one I guess I will never get an answer to. :)
