I have a fascination with genealogy, genetics and history. I like discovering the past because it’s a wonderful teacher and it helps me to understand who I am, where I come from and possibly where I am going. I believe that my interest in genealogy was sparked at a very young age, when my father would take me to places so he could do research on his family. Then in addition to that I had a great aunt who would pull out very old pictures and tell me stories about people in the family that at the time sounded very crazy. Many years later I was able to take those stories and put fact to them and figure out what she was talking about and piece it all together.

Cemeteries are a particular interest of mine because they contain so much history and contain our ancestors.

I think one of the best quotes I've ever ran across was by Benjamin Franklin about cemeteries.

Wöhl / Wohl / Woehl that immigrated from Oberseebach, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France
Morgenstern that immigrated from Oberseebach, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France to Welland County, Ontario, Canada. *Many Morgenstern took on the surname of Morningstar once in Canada.
Gooch / Googe in Barnwell County, South Carolina and possibly in Louisa, Virginia.
Levine from New York that went to South Carolina.
Freilich in Poland, Austria and possibly Czechoslovakia.
Weitzner in Poland and Austria that immigrated to the United States.
