Thank you for your sojourn here.
For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust.
"Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes."
Thus He remembered that they were but flesh, A wind that passes and does not return.
"We must forgive our enemies. I can truly say that not a day has passed since the war began that I have not prayed for them." from Part 8, Chapter 19 of "A LIFE OF GEN. ROBERT E. LEE." BY JOHN ESTEN COOKE
This was written by Robert E. Lee after the
Civil War. It is still timely and true for
"Knowing that intercessory prayer is our
mightiest weapon and the supreme call for
all Christians today, I pleadingly urge our
people everywhere to pray. Believing that
prayer is the greatest contribution that our
people can make in this critical hour, I
humbly urge that we take time to pray- to
Let there be prayer at sunrise, at noontime,
at sundown, at midnight-all through the day.
Let us pray for our children, our youth, our
aged, our pastors, our homes. Let us pray
for our churches.
Let us pray for ourselves, that we may not
lose the word "compassion" out of our
Christian vocabulary. Let us pray for our
nation. Let us pray for those who have not
known Jesus Christ and His redeeming love,
for moral forces everywhere, for our leaders.
Let prayer be our passion.
Let prayer be our practice."

|Dave Wallace||RE: Early photo of Cyntha Lovelace|
Can you "right click" on the image and save it to your computer? If you can't I can and will send it to an email address. It seems like an essential part of your history - as you say, a window to your past. If Cyntha had a findagrave memorial I would add her image to it. Let me know - glad I found a real relative of hers.

|Dave Wallace||Early photo of Cyntha Lovelace|
I was looking at a website that sells very old photos called daguerreotypes. This unique little metal mirror is being marketed as a photo of Agatha Lovelace but closer scrutiny shows it to be labeled Cyntha ?? Lovelace - can't quite make out middle name(?) These would have been popular in America between 1845 and 1860. Cyntha who wed William would have been around 30 - 35 around then -- do you suppose this is a photo of George Logan Lovelace's mother? It's a pretty fair price to pay for an image, a real photo of a relative born before the Civil War - take a look. It's a once in a lifetime thing.
p.s. it's hard to believe but I have an aunt that lives in Rutherfordton!!
YOU SEEM LIKE YOU ARE VERY INTERESTED

She was probably from my ex husband's side of the family. No relation to me. Maybe I can find something tho.
|Irene Wheeler Merrill||RE: Passing Through for Hello|
Hi Jeff - so good to hear from you, even if it is about that ridiculous request. I haven't had much time to continue my research but I hope that changes soon. I hope things are otherwise well for you, and Happy New Year!

Thank you so much Jeff, I appreciate the transfer so much. I love and miss him greatly. He has worked in several different places over the years and would give you the shirt off his back if he knew you needed it. Everyone who came in contact with him loved him very much. That photo was taken in 2006 and he attended Clyde A. Erwin high school.
I could go on for hours about family lines so it did not bother me at all to hear from you and I am so sorry you haven't gotten the chance to reconnect with Gary. I am on Facebook under "Barbie Baer" if you would like to connect there as well.

Hi Jeff, this is Barbie from West Funeral Home. Thank you for posting the memorial for my brother James Edward Clayton, Jr. It helps my grieving process to know that he will not be forgotten. Please let me know if I can help you with any info on future memorials.

You're welcome. My Lovelace's came in when my Great Great Grandfather James R Champion married Mary Jane Lovelace. Not sure where your family line is. I haven't work on my tree in a long time but would like to get back at it. You're welcome to any information I have on Ancestry.
