D At Vienna, SD, June 22nd, Elizabeth Walker, wife of Mr. Peter McLaren, formerly of Lanark, aged 67 years.

1851 Census, Dalhousie Twp., Lanark Co., Ont.--
Elizabeth Walker was living with her widowed father Samuel and her siblings Robert, Maria, George, and Samuel.

Marriages St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Lanark County, Ontario 1858-1893, pages 18 & 21--
Married 12/29/1863. Elisabeth Walker, 22, of Lanark, born Dalhousie, daughter of Samuel Walker and Phebe Bennet; to Peter McLaren, 24, of Lanark, born Equising, son of John McLaren and Marion Mcilquham.

The Lanark Era: Births, Marriages and Deaths, 1912-1936, Volume Two, page 39--
D Pleasant Twp., Dakota, Dec. 19th, 1913, Peter McLaren. He was born at Lanark, June 9th, 1830, and married in 1863 to Elizabeth Walker. They had three children; Peter, and Mrs. J.S. Henery, both of Vienna, Dakota. The younger son, John, died in Oct. 1897, and his wife died in 1908. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Wm. Smith, of Lanark, and two brothers, John, of Vancouver, BC and Walter, of Swan Lake, Man. Burial in New Hope cemetery, Pleasant Twp., Dakota.

From your McLaren family researches, do you have any information about Elizabeth (Walker) McLaren's parents, Samuel Walker and Phebe/Phoebe (Bennett) Walker? I'd be grateful for any information you might be able to provide.

Yes, they are distant cousins. Elmer 7th cousin 2x removed & Oscar 6th cousin 3x removed. I have Marjorie Mc Laren listed in my extended Butterfield tree along with there three Butterfield children.
