Bio and Links
Bio Photo There seems to be a FLAW in the way the new edits are being done, spouses are coming up in bright RED UNKNOWN, when in FACT it is RIGHT, I have had this happen when I send edits also, hopefully this can be fixed. I have been saving the spouse # and re-adding it after the edit is done.

PLEASE use the EDIT to ask for transfers, with your ID # and the PHOTO REQUEST if you want a photo of the stone for EACH person listed. I try to get other family near the one requested in case they are not already listed, but if they are already listed it is nice if you also request them. I print off the requests from the computer, and the "notes" don't show if you ask for other family members. If there are a lot of requests only the ones listed might be taken when it's a quick stop. You have my permission to use my photos of the stones for your family records.

It is my wish that everyone is remembered, this is my way of helping make it happen. We all will make mistakes, I'm happy to make changes and transfer loved ones always hoping that you can add to their memorials. I just want to help, when I find more information and send an edit, it is sad when that isn't added. I am so thankful for the ones that put family of ours on, some we had no idea where were, so you can see what a blessing Find A Grave has been.

I know it's important to have "facts", some think an official document such as birth, marriage or death certificate is correct. Sadly that is NOT always correct. There will always be conflicting information. Don't get upset when there is an error, just do your best to try to have it corrected, when there is another source, add the information in a note for one or the other. Try to always be nice, this site is great to help find our roots and follow all the branches. :) Genealogy = Confusing the dead and annoying the living.-by Unknown Author. I'm sure I "annoy" quite a few. I use ~ to mean not just now, but always~

RE: Arnold Parli Photo
Hi, Luella,

Thanks for going the extra three miles! It is challenging at times to get a decent, legible, photo. I greatly appreciate your resourcefulness and dedication!

Take care.

Arnold Parli Photo
Hi, Luella,

It has been quite a while since our paths crossed. I hope you have been, and are, well.

Thanks, again, for a marker photo. I see you're using the old "take-it-at-a-slight-angle-so-you-can-actually-read-it" trick! lol I continue to appreciate your photographic help.

Thanks for all you do on find-a-grave!

Take care.

Alice Marie Spradley
Alice Marie Spradley was the wife of Charley Spradley and lost her life in a house fire. Her parents, Albert Brouhard and Mary Lyons Brouhard are also buried at Richland Center Cemetery. Her great grandparents, John (12/24/1822) and Mary (6/10/1832) O'Neil are buried at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Beattie. Mary Lyons parents were Mary O'Neil (1860) and Amos Lyons (1855).

RE: Orlie O Handley
Thank you very much for making the links. I did edit Lizzie's memorial to reflect the fact that she was Orlie's wife, and her maiden name was Longberg. I didn't realize that I could edit memorials that I did not create. Thanks for the tip. Wilma

Re: Newspaper article

I wondered if that April 8th date was incorrect. So glad that that mystery is solved. Also, really happy that I could help you out a little. It doesn't take much for me to go off in all directions, if I see a mystery. And, Stella & Della fit the bill perfectly. Really enjoyed the hunt. Just wish I had that much luck with some of my own family mysteries where I had hit roadblocks.

Guess it's all in a days work. If I can help you with anything else, please feel free to contact me.

Estelle Mae "Stella" (Bowen) Smith Current
Good Afternoon Luella,

I found Stella. She was laid to rest in the same cemetery as her twin sister, Della Faye (Bowen) Holliman. Memorial #8295714. I took a shot & looked up all "Stella"s" in the Hamburg Cemetery, and found "Stella M. Current, 1904/1981" The birth year matched, and the tombstone looks like Della's.

Did some reseach on ancestry, and found 1 family tree, for her and her husband, Olna Wayne Current, but they didn't know her maiden name.

Per the 1920, Table Rock, Pawnee Co., IA census, Both Stella & Della Bowen, are single, and living with their brother, Ralph Bowen, his wife, Katie G
Bowen, and their son, Loyd Bowen.

I found the marriage license from Glenwwod, Iowa, for Howard C. SMITH, 22, son of Thomas C. Smith & Josephine Fisher; and Stella Mae Bowen, 20, daughter of Silas & Mary E. Bowen. They were married on May 12, 1924.

Also found several Omaha City directory listings for Olna W. & ESTELLA Current, from 1936-1939.

Also found, the 1940 Tecumseh, Johnson Co., Ne Census:

Thomas J. CURRENT: 64, IL
Ella J. CURRENT: 61, NE
Olna CURRENT: 33, NE, son
Stella CURRENT: 35, NE, daughter-in-law
Leonard CURRENT: 9, NE, grandson

And last but not least, I found the U.S. Social Security Death Index, 1935/2014:

Last Residence: Hamburg, Fremon Co., IA
Birth: April 27, 1904
Death: Jan. 1981

This birthdate of April 27, 1904, being a perfect match to Della Faye Holliman's, U.S. SS Death Index record.

The only thing that threw me, is that someone added a small newspaper article on Silas Bowen's Memorial, #55405167, that tells about the birth of his twin daughters. If you click on that article, and read the caption entered, it states that the date of the newspaper it appeared in was, April 8, 1904, and that the twins were born the previous Wednesday. So I found a 1904 calandar, and April 8th was a Friday, and the previous Wednesday, was April 6, 1904????

I have sent updates and link requests for both girls to the memorial manager.

Let me know what you think, when you get a free minuet. I hope I haven't overstepped my bounds here.

Hope you are enjoying your Valentines Day,
