I grew up in Waverly, Iowa & moved with my family down to Leavenworth, Kansas in 1993. I am a May 2008 graduate of Kansas State University and was actively involved with the marching band. I'm a huge fan of Kansas State football and hold season tickets. |
I am in the process of joining the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). My patriot ancestors are:
- was a Hessian soldier who deserted and stayed in Pennsylvania. As of yet, I have been unable to prove he took the Oath of Allegiance which I know he had to of.
One of my biggest interests is in Genealogy and I absolutely love History so its a perfect pairing. I'm fascinated with family histories.
Family names I'm interested in:
Bergman (in IA)
Brandt/Lampe (in IA)
Halweg/Friedrich (in IA)
Tjebkes (in IA)
Stelzer (in IA and MN)
Bohner (in IA and PA)
As for the photos I take for Find A Grave:
If you would like me to transfer any memorials to you I would be more than happy to oblige as I am not interested in stacking up numbers for memorials managed. I think those that have that mindset are very rude people. The only memorials I will not transfer are those for my own family unless very distantly related. Also, if you would like a copy of the original photos posted to memorials please let me know as I am more than happy to send them to you.
CREATED MEMORIALS NOTE:
I will sometimes photograph other plot markers near the graves where I am fulfilling photo requests. If they have no memorial I create one for them and attempt to give them a story based on what I find on various genealogical websites. If at any point you come across a memorial I've created for your ancestor and I have added information you DO NOT want on their memorial, please do not hesitate to let me know and I will gladly remove it. The same applies if there is something that you DO want added to their memorial. If I have included an obituary on any memorial page and you would like a clipping from the actual newspaper please let me know and I will accommodate. If I have added something you wish to be removed PLEASE BE NICE ABOUT IT when letting me know as I am not trying to upset anyone. I don't wish to be scolded like a child.
I am currently working extensively in multiple sections in Mount Muncie Cemetery, therefore I am very knowledgable about the cemetery and have a good working relationship with the cemetery's manager. If you have any questions about a grave or about the cemetery in general please don't hesitate to contact me.
My current goal is to get memorials up for all the ummarked graves in Mount Muncie Cemetery.

Thank You for the photo of Herman Baum's headstone at Mt. Muncie cemetery. It is so nice to be able to link this family together and have photos of the headstone for other family members.
I have been on vacation and plan to resume adding more records to Mt. Muncie this week.
Have a Great week!

What a nice surprise to see the headstones for Mace and Ella! Interesting how the family did not include the birth and death ... a first to see.
Your kindness and service to our family is Sincerely Appreciated. Susan

Yes, I transferred some of the ones I have created to Find A Grave, on some of them that I have created I do not know the family. I am hoping that by transferring them to Find A Grave that family members are more likely to request transfer of the Memorials and add information. Some people are hesitant to add to a Memorial that is managed by another member.
If you would like the one's that I am creating from the database, I will gladly transfer to you, if they are not my direct family.
