Dear Ancestor,

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
In this field of green.
The name and date are chiseled out
For all the world to see.

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I'd exist,
You died long before I was born.

Yet we are of one, you and I,
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the life you lived
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Strangers in the Box
By Pamela A. Harazim

Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like.
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time
To tell who, what, where, when,
These faces of my heritage
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories
Someday to be tossed away?
Make time to save your pictures,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.

"If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them, perhaps,
You wouldn't want to know.

But, here's another question, which
Requires another view,
If you could meet your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?"

Unsure what to do
Hello, My name is Kira And I am trying to find my family history. My grandpa is Milford F Bennett. I found his mother was Rosa Bennett and Father Thomas Bennett. Both of West Virginia. Would it be possible to find out why the parents aren't linked to their son? Also I wanted to add my biological Grandmother to my grandpas. Thank you for the pictures I love them. I am also sorry for the loss of your husband.
Sincerely Kira

Transfer Request

I'm sure it must be extremely hard... I lost my wife a few years back. You don't want to do anything for awhile.

I am working on various family connections on my mother's side. Harold Babcock, record #62954871, under your management is my uncle. I would be so thankful if you could transfer his record to me (account 49138365)

Hi Melody..
I inadvertently reversed the memorial numbers for Alfred and Pearl--his wife.
Alfred's number is #72981730, and Pearl's is #74028127.
Best regards,

Thank you, Melody
What a beautiful, lovely place you have created to linger and to ponder. May you be comforted in the loss of your husband. My husband and I are going through many, many boxes of photos and memories, writing down names on backs of photos--and very thankful for those who had written names of backs of photos of those now gone. I am praying for you, today, Melody. May you know the peace and comfort of Jesus.

I was wondering if there was any indication as to who L. Marie Hopper may be in relation to the other Hopper's in this cemetery? Perhaps she was buried next to her husband if he was one of the sons of William R. Hoppers?
Thank you and my condolences for your loss.

Charles W Hoggatt
Hello~ I have been doing some family research, and I see you left flowers for Charles W Hoggatt.
I was wondering by chance if you were a Hoggatt family member, and if so would be from the John William and Amanda Hoggatt line? My 2nd great aunt was married to their son Charley
Roy Hoggatt.
Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.

You have two memorials for the same person. The correct spelling of the last name is HANSON, not HENSON. The correct memorial, 73705736, already has a photo of the marker and family connections.
