Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching some of the 36,000 + Army Air Forces personnel who died in the line of duty, of non-combat causes during the World War II era in service-related accidents. It is said that more
than 15,500 Army airmen were killed in airplane accidents between 1941 and 1946, within the borders of the U.S. and it's territories. They gave their all and died in the service of their country, but received no purple hearts and virtually no mention in the history books and have largely been forgotten by time.

For corrections, additions, or requests for transfer of memorial, please use the Edit tab, and select Suggest a Correction or Provide Additional Information to make any update requests. It is much easier to handle the issue this way, rather than a personal message.

I am happy to update any memorial, including family links. But I DO NOT like adding census information, copies of death certificates and please do not add long obituaries to the "photo" area. The information can be condensed and pasted into the bio area. If you don't have the time to type out the obituary, just email it to me. I will add it and give you credit for finding it.
I appreciate any information that can "round out" someone's bio.

Many thanks for your time and efforts in locating this monument and photoing Merlin's name. Your good works are much appreciated. Such a sacrifice they all paid for our freedoms.

Wingerter and Jeffers
Sgt. Earl Wingerter, #83674522, who died in 1945, is someone you may want to add to your virtual cemeteries.
Another name is TSGT Kenneth A. Jeffers, #70809382. He died in a crash outside the United States, but it was not in enemy action so you may want it for your list of men who died in plane crashes not considered KIA.

World War II Death
I created a memorial for Floyd Daniel Couch, ## 177192710. Since he died in the crash of a torpedo bomber in the United States you may want to add him to one of your virtual cemeteries.

PVT Salvatore Santora
Tim - check the memorial for PVT Santora. The reason we couldn't find any info is because the surname on the stone is SANTORO (he is buried with his parents). Also, his birthdate is listed as 1922. I added a photo of the stone. I just sent you some edits. *Eileen

Paul Kish
Thank you for the photo. My father is doing research on Paul Kish for his family in Indiana that don't really know what happened to him.
Thanks again.

Leslie D Meyers photo--Thanks!
Hello Tim, thanks so much for the photo of Leslie's name on the Tablets of the Missing. Do you by any chance have a picture of the whole width of his entry so the rest of his line can be read? If so, would you mind entering that also?
Thanks again,
