Frederick W. Cole
I have located the grave of Mr. Cole in Evergreen Cemetery at location D72, not the F10-13 listed on your request and submitted an edit to correct that as well as birth and death information which comes from the cemetery records. You may wish to add to his bio that parents names are shown in cemetery records as "Fred." Cole and Charlotte Cornell and wife as Edna.

New sign for Gerould Cemetery
Hi Dee,

We now have a new Gerould, NOT GERROULD, Cemetery sign.

Find A Grave has added it to the Cemetery home page, however they did not give us directions on how to have the incorrect sign deleted; plus, on some memorials it's been relegated to the second page.

So I'm checking all the memorials for the old signs and asking that they removed.

Would you please delete the old sign from your memorials?

Thanks,
Judith@WrenthamRoots

I wondered if that was the one.
When we first pulled in the cemetery and parked - I looked out the window and the first thing I saw was Margaret's stone. I told my friend - that is the one that had a "Problem report" and there it is!

Remind me which headstone. I took so many I have forgotten which one I took for you.

Rutland
Whitehall, NY is only 23 miles from Rutland, VT. I took my friend over to get photos of some of his family buried in NY. Hero, VT is about 90 miles north of us. It's always great to meet new cousins.

RE: Coles in Evergreen Cem
As I recall, I couldn't be sure I found the stones on my prior search (2 years back?) because they were so gunked up, but I do think I took some pix in the same plot back then, maybe for you. If the stones were cleaned, it was long ago, but clearly they are better now than on my prior visit. Possibly some of the lichens died back rather than were cleaned off??? Hope you get a chance to visit.

RE: Coles in Evergreen Cem
Hi Dee,

You are very welcome. I thought I had found one of the stones before (a long time ago), but it was so encrusted with lichens that I wasn't even sure I had the right stone. Recently, I found the stones clean enough to recognize, though far from clean. If these are your grandparents, you probably would feel comfortable giving these stones a good cleaning if you get to the cemetery. They are otherwise in excellent condition.

RE: Broughtons in Evergreen Cemetery
Hi Dee,

It's been a while since I took the pictures, but if my memory serves me, those stones I didn't photograph would probably be perfectly readable were someone to clean off a lot of soft, mossy gunk. I felt the decision to do a heavy scraping should rest with a family member. Sorry I couldn't find more for you.

Hello,

I photographed some Broughtons for you and I wanted to alert you that I also added pictures for other Broughtons if you are interested--Ira Jr., Lavina, Emeline and Albert Davis Broughton.
