RE: Your Grandmother
I'm so glad that the message that I left on your grandmother's memorial made you smile. Grief is a life long process. The smallest things, like a message on a memorial can make a person feel good.

Photo on Capt. Jesse Sharpe Barnes memorial
Hello,

I am managing the memorial for Capt. Jesse S. Barnes of the 4th NC Infantry here on Find A Grave. You were so kind to add a photo of him to the memorial. There is a problem with the image, however. It does not show Jesse Barnes but a cousin-in-law, Capt. Thomas Alston Martin of the 13th NC Infantry. The photo was unfortunately misidentified by a collector and that faulty identification was originally accepted by the Library of Congress.
In the meantime, the image has been correctly identified as one of Tom Martin, while another image in the collection of the LoC was identified as Jesse Barnes, an id that can be backed up by contemporary sources (Regimental Histories North Carolina Troops).
I know that the image of Tom Martin is still listed on many internet site as being of Jesse Barnes, the LoC however has corrected the info on their page. I feel strongly that it is not fair to either of the two men to keep the wrong image up there on Jesse's memorial. Therefore I ask you kindly to please remove that image you added so the memorial correctly reflects the person it is for. Since you added it, you are the only person who can take it down. I will ask the other contributors who added the wrong image to do the same.

Thank you very much in advance for caring and taking down the image

Best, Kat

RE: Erica♥
Dear Susan,

I want to thank you wholeheartedly for your beautiful token left on my niece's memorial page and your very kind note to me. I cannot express how much they mean to me.

Erica's death still hasn't fully sank in. Erica is not only my niece, but my Goddaughter. I loved her like my own child. I have 3 boys, whom I love tremendously, but had always longed for a daughter. She filled that void, in a way.

My sister (Erica's mom) knows of this memorial, but she isn't one to spend time here, like I do. I will certainly let her know that you and others who have reached out to me, are thinking and praying for her and our family as a whole.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, my friend,

Love, Melinda

71331555 John Thompson Civil War Veteran
Good Evening, May I use the photo's of John Thompson, and his military dog tags, that you contributed to his Find A Grave Memorial, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? It would certainly add a lot of "personality" to his page. ( www.vermontcivilwar.org)
You would receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

RE: Louis Hebert
Thank you for getting back to me. This all started when I found out that cemeteries associated with Notre-Dame-de-Quebec are not named Notre-Dame.

Couldn't find the Recollet Crypt on findagrave, but here is a link to it on leslabelle.com:
http://www.leslabelle.com/Cimetieres/AfficherCim.asp?MP=E3&CID=2737
There is a map near the bottom of the page.

Might have to create a new cemetery for findagrave? I found a reference to his body being moved there (the Recollet Crypt) on biographi.ca, but no mention of it later being moved to Notre-Dame. That article agrees with Champlain on Louis' death occurring on the 25th rather than the 23rd of January.

Neither leslabelle nor an article on thecanadianencyclopedia.ca mentions Louis Hebert being moved to Notre-Dame. Here is part of the article from that site about the history of Notre-Dame-de-Quebec:

Substantial new work began in 1960 and stretched throughout the 20th century, primarily involving the configuration of the crypt that now houses the tombs of most of Québec City’s bishops and four governors of New France (Louis de Buade, Comte de Frontenac, Louis-Hector de Callières, Philippe de Rigaud de Vaudreuiland Jacques-Pierre de Taffanel, Marquis de La Jonquière).

Memorial # 95474560
According to Samuel Champlain, Louis died 25 Jan 1627. Here's a link to the page in his book (top half page is in French, bottom half in English):

http://eir.library.utoronto.ca/champlain/DigObj.cfm?Idno=9_96825&lang=eng&Page=0235&Size=3&query=Champlain,%20Samuel%20de,%201567-1635.&browsetype=Author&startrow=1&Limit=All

Since Notre-Dame-de-Quebec wasn't built until 1647, Louis was probably buried in Québec First Cemetery (Quebec city)(http://www.leslabelle.com/Cimetieres/AfficherCim.asp?MP=E3&CID=1032)-- Québec First Cemetery on findagrave (use the accent mark)

Hi
Hi Susan I saw your post on Jacques Millettes find a grave page. I see that he is your 13th great grandfather. He is also my 13 th great grandfather so I guess that makes us really distant cousins!
