My husband and I enjoy finding monuments for other people and am extremely grateful to the volunteers who have found my own people for me. We've been working on finding the little pioneer cemeteries in the area and putting their inhabitants online. Four of our memorial pages even helped to catch a gravestone thief. Cemeteries are extremely vulnerable to vandalism, theft, negligent cattlemen, and the damage of time and weather. We appreciate all of the volunteers out there who are working so hard to document them before they are lost to history.

I'm not a numbers addict or collector, but I adhere to Findagrave policy:

◊Find A Grave's primary purpose is a graves registration website.

◊Find A Grave's secondary purpose is a memorialization/remembrance site.

◊Find A Grave's tertiary purpose is a genealogical resource.

Transfers are only made within the guidelines set up by Find A Grave. "The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it." I am willing to consider transferring ownership to you if you have a close family member among my records. I rarely transfer relationships more distant than first cousin... just having someone "in my family tree" or "a relative" will not elicit a transfer.

If you want information added to a memorial, go to the memorial and use the "Edit" tab to send me the information-- including family links. I will add information to the memorial, I do not transfer just because someone wants to add links or other information. Bottom line: what are you planning on doing with the entry that I haven't already done or am unable to do?

On the other hand, if you upload family photos or in some other way add value to the memorial, I am much more willing to transfer. I will always transfer a memorial if you sponsor it.

I welcome all corrections to my own work. Some records were imported using OCR so have inevitable errors, both from the original records and from machine interpretation. I am only human and make mistakes, too, but will always make it priority to correct them.

Having been raised on a farm I understand the problem with cows. I know you feel strongly about preservation and are trying to preserve as much of the history in your area too. Glad to know you had taken those pictures before the history was gone in that cemetery.

RE: Eberhard photo
You are welcome. I actually had a difficult time reading the last name and I started looking at all the Henrys in Forks and when I came across Everhart, I knew I found him.

Our snow is gone thanks to temps in the 70's last few days and warm weather last week.

I have been at Forks when I can trying to go row by row and taking all the graves I can read when the sun is on them the best. The old section is not in good shape, some of the stones are being damaged or broken I think by mowing equipment. There is no effort to repair them either. Some stones have a red growth on them that I think is damaging the stones too. Trying to preserve what I can get for present and future researchers.

Joe Monroe and Emmer Stewart (#29462528)
Would you mind if I use your photo for Joe and Emmer Stewart on my findagrave, My Heritage, Familysearch, and wiki? I will place the copyright notice on each site to give you credit for the photo. Joseph is my guncle on my mother's side. Sarah Emmer Brookshire is his wife.

If you would consider transferring this memorial to me, I will update and take care of it. I have the parents for both Joe and Emmer as well as other information.

I'm really grateful for your work on my family. Thank you for the beautiful photo of their stone.

RE: Transfers
Just some info about Belcrest - when I went to take some of my family headstone photos (this was several years ago). Make sure you go into the office first, they have had problems in the past with people taking headstone photos and then selling them. They wanted to make sure that I was taking them for myself and not going to sell them.

RE: Transfers

At this point, I am going to just keep my family members and many of those in Belcrest are my close family. If I decide to transfer at a later date, I will make sure that I transfer them to you.
