Cemetery preservation is very important to me and I try to list from actual cemetery visits and various book listings. I have been working with Wayne Austin for the last 10 years as a volunteer contributor for his project.
Please, e-mail me with any corrections or additional information that needs to be posted at any Maury County Cemetery where you see my name via the edit option on the memorial.

If I have posted a close relative of yours let me know and I will transfer. Please use the edit option on the memorial for updates, corrections and questions, my responce will be much faster, I don't have to look up the memorial by name that way.

William B Gordon 1868-1952
I found his death cert, it lists John Chapman Gordon and Fannie Gillespie Gordan as his parents. Is it possible that the older William B Gordan is the brother of John chapman Gordan, and John named his son after his brother?

Rose White Cheairs...There is another Rose White Cheairs (Memorial #177773791) that was entered in March 2017.

Found them while looking at the Cheairs genealogy. Can you get with the other person and combind or delete or whatever needs to be done to have only one memorial?

Thanks for all you do for Find a Grave! Can't imagine the work you've done to imput all those grave sites.

Memorials 13198900 & 166656585
I believe that these two Memorials are the same person. The first one is M. Leonora "Nora" Cheairs Thompson entered on 01 Feb 2006 and she is listed as the daughter of John Wesley Cheairs and Susan Tabitha Pointeer Cheairs. Believe this one is a good one.

The second memorial listed is for Mrs. Nora Cheairs Thompson and she is listed as a "sibling" with parents of Nathaniel Cheairs and Sarah Rush Cheairs. It was entered 08 Jul 2016.

My husband's 3x great grandmother was Mary Polly Cheairs and John Wesley Cheairs was her brother. I believe that M. Leonora "Nora" Cheairs Thompson is John Wesley Cheairs' daughter.

Can you check this out and see what you think? We made a trip to Spring Hill, Tn this past month to see Rippavilla Plantation (John Wesley's youngest brother's home place).

Sorry so long,
bobbie scott

#14116390 - Edward Williams, II
Hi, Mary Bob,
I was checking names of people buried in the Hamilton-Williams lot in Block M of Rose Hill; then went down the line of Williams entries, clicked on "more info" for Edward Williams, and was amazed to see a message to you from Jim Dedman. Tantalizing! I have never seen an exact count, including names, for 19 children for Edward Williams, but I am not out to dispute it. I am his great-great-granddaughter twice. As mentioned in the message, his first wife, Dorothy Darby, is buried at the cemetery in Williamsport (place named by his father when he established it), and his second wife, Eleanor Elizabeth Dedman, is buried next to her. The lovely shafts were identical; one has broken, and both are in bad shape. It is a most unusual circumstance that each of these two wives is my great-great-grandmother. I will not go into details here, but will be happy to share info in a slightly more private venue.
I would love to contact Jim Dedman if he is still around. I do not know where Lily McConnico is buried. (I've never seen 'Delilah', but do not dispute it). I do know a little more about Roberta Porter Williams, the fourth wife. The number of their children is larger than I once thought; several of them died in childhood.
Next I will see if the Williamsport burials are posted on Find A Grave. John B. Hamilton's mother and brother, Samuel, are also buried there; the stones are virtually devoid of legible markings, but I have dates in the Hamilton Bible.
Thanks so much for your good work with Find A Grave!

I am so excited to have found your contact information. I am a Cooper by marriage. My husbands relatives go back to Maury County. I was looking for the Facebook page you mentioned but I do not see it. Is this Facebook page still current?
