I was born in Nebraska, raised in eastern North Carolina and after living in various parts of the U.S., I now live in northern Utah, just below the Idaho boarder.|
Proud to be a Veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War(did not serve in Vietnam) and am married to a Veteran of United States Army.
The family names I'm researching the most are TEW, GODWIN, HAYES & JACKSON out of North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Texas & Florida.
OBERMIER, FINKE, WEIMER & AGGEN out of Nebraska, Wisconsin & Germany.
I've been doing genealogy for 40+ years and it is one of the things that I love to do.
You have my permission to use any photos that I have added to the memorials and that includes the Death Certificates. This site along with ancestry.com are sites to be shared. To insist on ownership due to my efforts to search would be meaningless to why they were created. But I do understand why others might not feel this way and support how they manage their memorials.
Thank you to those who have helped me out with my requests.
A special thank you to Aleta Hobbs that has gone to Spring Branch Cemetery in Sampson County countless times to photo my requests and then to just photo all the headstones that needed to be added to the memorials there. And she has done the same in many of the cemeteries in the area. She has been simply amazing....
To those who get their britches in a bunch because I leave a Death Certificate on their memorials I say this. I am busy with a project, should one be left after it has been requested not to, don't take offense. There are many contributors and should your name beforegotten, just ask and it will be removed. Don't mean to offend and to receive demands that are mean and hurtful is not how I handle things. In over 9
years on findagrave.com there have been 5 people that have requested this. You can get further in life by being considerate and kind.
And I add this to those that want to sit in judgment of those of us who "Sit Around" on our computers adding memorials. You need to know this. The research put into these memorials are not done with a hap-hazard attitude. The research is done with going through oodles of records, cross-referencing and rechecking data. So get over it. It is our way of contributing and helping those that are not genealogy savvy to have somewhere to start. I do not apology for my memorials. I do not "Own" my memorials. I am a care taker until someone who is family asks for them. Wow, the judgmental sure chaps my hide...
Also, please remember that some of us might have a very good reason for not being able to go out to cemeteries in our areas to photograph headstone so, please be kind and honor our request on your end. I was a "Photo Volunteer" but for the time being it is not something I can easily do...
Many, many thanks to the findagravers that have been so kind and thoughtful over the years....

I should have added this to the last message...
From the Forest Lawn database the other people interred in this lot are: Jane Dube burial date June 24th of 1997, Fred Charles Nelson burial date May 8th of 1980, and Nina Lucille Nelson burial date June 17th of 1972.
This information is just in case they are relatives of yours and/or Brad Hofman.

The transfer of Brad is complete.
There is no need to transfer him back to me. I am a firm believer in first come first serve on Find A Grave.
Have a great day.

I'm having trouble locating Ada's grave. Perhaps if you contacted the City at 252 329-4522 they may have some info available. The cemetery records from that time are not very good, but maybe you can get lucky.
I did come across a newspaper article of her sad death. If you're interested I'd be glad to send a copy. Hardy

It is not in Paxton it is in Pleasant Grove. But it is only listed as being in Walton County.

I found a headstone and some cemetery information on Francis M. Mixon. The cemetery card indicates that Francis' wife was a Barret, and his in-laws are buried at Bell Springs. The cemetery cards were created about 1960 by a group of ladies in the community that wanted to gather information on those buried at Bell Springs. On the card, it has his information, and then below are the relatives that they spoke with. I whited out the address of those since it will be put on the website, but I doubt these people still live at those addresses. Hope this helps! I will upload pics shortly.

Just wanted to give you an update. I have been out there once, but I haven't come across it yet, but I will go out there one more time to check. In the older part of the cemetery, we are pretty sure that there are missing headstones, and I have no way of knowing who is there because they didn't keep records until the 1960s when my family started taking care of it. I do have a cemetery card with his name listed, so I will check one more time. Sorry, it is taking so long!!
