Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Kosciusko, MS (Attala County)My family is mostly from MS (Attala and Holmes Counties). I am researching the Goss, Hodges, Bingham, Crook, Lovin, Simmons, Yeager, Veal, Eubanks, Wade, Nash, McKinnon, Smith with some Black and Prewitt connections.

My deceased husband, Johnny, was originally from Attala County also. I am researching the Sanders, Herod, Parkerson, Self, Cupit and Stewart connections for his family.

I am actively trying to photograph and document all the graves in Attala County.
I will gladly transfer any memorial to DIRECT family members according to Find a Grave conditions. "Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations." Please don't ask if the memorial does not fit these conditions. DO NOT ASK FOR A TRANSFER IF YOU HAVE JUST JOINED FINDAGRAVE.

FIND A GRAVE CONDITIONS FOR REQUESTING TRANSFERS:

How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.

Second, Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Third, If you have extensive additions/changes to make to a memorial, please contact the Find A Grave member who created the memorial.

Horace P. Pearson
Dear Lisa,

You've helped me out before and I'm back for another.

As you may remember, I am researching my paternal grandfather's WWI army unit, Company B, 355th Infantry, 89th Division. According to the History and Roster of the 355th Infantry, Horace P. Pearson was a member of this unit.

Again, I'm not sure where I'm going with my project, but I'm hoping to eventually publish something. When I do, would it be permissible to use your photograph of the grave of Horace P. Pearson (Find A Grave Memorial# 37793165)?

Thank you!

Robert E. Lowe
Dear Lisa,

I am researching my paternal grandfather's WWI army unit, Company B, 355th Infantry, 89th Division. According to the History and Roster of the 355th Infantry, Robert E. Lowe was a member of this unit, at least at one time. His gravestone says that he was in the 356th Infantry, which is entirely possible as I'm sure transfers occurred for a variety of reasons.

I'm not sure where I'm going with my project, but I would like to eventually publish something. When I do so, would it be permissible to use your photograph of Robert E. Lowe's gravestone (Find A Grave Memorial# 48108675)?

Thank you!

In the Suggs Cemetery (Kosciusko) Attala County my great grandfather is buried there and he has another tombstone with his wife. I was wondering if there are actually two wives buried there. I am looking for the grave of Elizabeth Jane McBride Holley who was born in 1842 in South Carolina and died approximately 1880. Is it possible for you to find out if Elizabeth Jane Holley is buried there also. I would greatly appreciate your help in this. Alot of family are from Sallis, Mississippi (Attala Co.) and also from Holmes County. My father, Doris Lucas, was born in Sallis, MS. Thank your for your assistance with this! Judy Wood

RE: Turpin Atwood
Oh wow!! Yes we have some information and pics of my Grandma Hatti. She left MS and went to Chicago with my great aunts and we are trying to figure out where she was buried. As far as the children Linnie (my great-grandmother whom raised me) and Louise Olive lived in Buffalo,Ny. Naomi lived in California but when she became very elderly she lived the rest of her life with my mom (niece) and I. My family has started an ancestry.com where their is information posted. We have had some trouble locating Grandma Hattie's family. We found that her last name is Journey but really nothing else. Did you personally know the Atwood family?
