I have been a history buff and fan of old cemeteries most of my life. I am also a serious amateur photographer so being a Find a Grave contributor allows me to satisfy both of these interests at the same time. In live in Virginia Beach, Virginia and work in Norfolk Virginia. My office and daily commutes are convenient to several historic Victorian era cemeteries including - Elmwood, Cedar Grove, West Point, Magnolia and Forest Lawn in Norfolk; and Cedar Grove and Oak Grove in Portsmouth. I am always happy to help out with photo requests.|

|Joseph R. Gainey||Alexander Hart photos|
Thank you for the WONDERFUL AND MOST APPROPRIATE photographs of Alexander Hart's grave in Newport, VA. There is an actual photograph of him in his Confederate uniform on page 102 of THE JEWISH CONFEDERATES by Robert Rosen (2000, University of South Carolina Press, ISBN 9781570033636)
|Brooke Mallory Jr.||Francis Mallory b. 1807|
Thanks for the photos of the Mallory gravesite in Elmwood Cemetery. This Francis Mallory is my great-great-grandfather. His son Charles O'Connor Mallory, CSA, is buried at St. John's in Tappahannock. Charles's son, Francis, is buried in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery in Lexington, VA. He enjoyed a long career of teaching physics at VMI. The physics building there is named for him. His sons and daughter are also buried with him in Lexington: Francis Mallory, a WWII naval hero; Dr. Brooke Baylor Mallory, Lexington physician and VMI Post Surgeon; and Austina Brockenbrough Mallory, an occupational therapist at Walter Reid Army Hospital and with the NIH.
Brooke and Emily Mallory, Roanoke.

|Margaret Grover||Joseph Wright et al|
Thanks for checking on our Wright ancestors. I received the message about the unmarked graves and lost cemetery records. That is sad.

Thank you for looking for the markers for Austin and Carrie and photographing where they should be. It's always disappointing to find what you are looking for just doesn't exist. I do appreciate your effort and the info. you uploaded.

|Ron Stewart||Hampton National Cemetery|
I am in the process of shooting the tombstones at Hampton National Cemetery in Hampton. One of the tombstones I posted today was a photo request that you had claimed. Didn't mean to step on your efforts. I shot row upon row and his was just one I had taken and posted as I came to it. Didn't even realize it was a photo request at the time I posted it.
