I believe that Find A Grave is a great resource for individuals who are doing family research. This is one of the reasons I love to create memorials. I am rewarded when someone contacts me and tells me they have found a loved one and I am able to add information to the memorial or transfer the memorial to them. It is my hope that others will also find their loved one's resting place through Find A Grave.

I forgot to mention in the Edit I sent that what you have,
"William was the son of Porter Oliff and Mollie Bryant Oliff"
came from his Death Cert that their son William Wesley filled out & put His mother, being William Samuel's Wife, Camilla Ann "Mollie" BRYANT & not his Fathers mother, Lucinda MOORE on it... I have Many Records let me know if you need any! ;)

Many many thanks for transferring the memorials. But I do have to say you have done a very good job adding the original memorials. You have helped me and I am sure have helped many other researchers. So thanks for adding you original memorials. Also thanks for the hints to delete my duplicate. Having contacted you before re using your photos, We will probably "speak" again. Bye Barb

Your FAG Memorials-155746701 Lula G Manuel nee Percy & 155726406 Berniah Elmer Manuel
Hello, I wonder if you would be kind enough to transfer these 2 memorials to me. As I am closely related and in close touch with their grand daughter who has sent me info on where they are buried and also a photo of the grave marker for Lula and I also have photos of them both when still alive. I just tried to add Lula to their cemetery-George Washington, to Find a Grave, but seemed to have made a duplicate record. Wonder what is best to do, as their did not seem a way to add the cemetery to your original memorial. Hope you can help, Barb

RE: Hope Union Cemetery
Thanks so much, Laura an I went to Shiloh Baptist and were told that the church actually has had 3 cemeteries, the first one was called Old Shiloh, then they started Hope Union and the present one was Shiloh. The reason we are trying to get them all straight is that lately there has been several families that have come to the Northumberland County Historic Society or have contacted us directly trying to locate family members in these cemeteries. We really appreciate your help and understanding. Marsha

Thanks for the picture of Mommy's grave. I hope you do not mind my adding a picture of my mother.

I was wondering if I could take over this one. I don't know if transfer would be too complicated. Hoping all right with you that I asked.

RE: Hattie Opie memorial
Thanks for your suggestions. Marsha and I have put our heads together and we are leaning toward changing the name to include Shiloh as well as Hope Union in the title.

We will certainly keep you in the loop!

RE: Hattie Opie memorial
What is a little confusing, especially when you direct people to their ancestors' final resting place - Same church, two cemeteries, miles and miles apart. That's the number #1 question we get at the Northumberland Co. Historical Society, where I volunteer. "Where are my people buried?"

Should we designate our Find a Grave memorial site called "Hope Union" as Old Site, Shiloh Baptist-Hope Union instead??

Marsha and I were at Hope Union last night and took dozens of pictures of stones. What a peaceful spot!
