Bio and Links
Bio Photo For thirty plus years I have been involved in genealogy. When my mother died, she left some notes about a few ancestors she had uncovered and hoped I would continue her research. That was the hook-in-the-jaw that changed my life. I only regret that I have missed out on so many years that I could have used. Alas, all those family stories that went in one ear and out the other, and all those family members who took so much information to the grave with them.

I am, however, thankful for the tools that are now available and for FindAGrave, a platform that I have spent many hours gaining from and contributing to.

If I have created a memorial for a member of your family, who isn't related to me, and you can add a biographical sketch I will be glad to transfer it to you. Many have received a transfer/transfers & have never added anything. This isn't fair to kin who may come along later who can do so. I will not transfer in mass numbers.

Julia Mudeater
Hi Virginia.

I just heard back from Earl Burleson, who went to view the headstone in person for Julia Mudeater. He said it definitely is a "3" (1863) and sent some new photos to me. I will gladly forward photos to if you provide an email. Or we can post them to the memorial.

I kindly request a change to the birth year from 1868 to 1863. I will follow up with and edit.

Again, thank you in advance and patience in this matter.

The Family of James and Caroline Bell
I am looking for a copy of your book. Can you help? I believe my husband is the 3rd great grandson of Malachi Albert Bell.

RE: Thank You
In regards to Julia Mudeater.....I've contacted Caroline Burleson and her husband is going to check the tombstone in person. To me, there apprears to be calcification which in a photo, the year looks like 1868. But my computer can zoom in well and it clearly looks like "1863".

I will let you know what they find.

Thanks so much for your patience.

RE: Dola Tilly Millsaps
C. A. "Lum" Millsaps married next Minnie McDonald on March 16, 1912 bk 10 page 399

From the Van Buren County Democrat issue March 22, 1912 pg. 2 col. 2

"Lum Millsaps and Miss Minnie McDonald surprised their many friends in this community by getting married one day last week. That all their troubles may be little ones is the wish of the writer."

I wouldn't be surprised if "Dollie" didn't die as a complication of childbirth and one of the "Infant Millsaps" located in the same row, next to her is the child that also died, although no mention of it was in the newspaper article, it may have died a few days later.

RE: George Washington Dotson
His birthday was Sept 12, 1871 (some sources give or take a year). He married Lula McCartney in Franklin Cty AR on June 3, 1894. They had 9 children including my grandfather, Harve T. Dotson. He died in Poteau, OK on April 3, 1960. He is buried in Hall Cemetary in Poteau. He has a double stone with his wife. Thanks for your help!

RE: Capt. John C. Brown
John C. Brown was born in 1830 in Tennessee.
His family moved to Milford, TX in Ellis County around 1850. A lot of his family are buried at Milford, but he is not.

He was a Texas Ranger Captain. and Capt. of the Ellis County Grays 1861-1864. He survived the Civil War and married Lucinda Wilson of Milford
around 1870. Lucinda died in 1904 and is buried at Mineral Wells, TX but he is not.

Capt. Brown and Lucinda and 3 children moved to Young County, TX around 1880 and had 3 more children.

Family documentation shows he died at Finis, TX in Jack County in Oct. 1887 so I was hoping the Finis Cemetery would have answers. I question the death year because of a family photo I have and think the death year was typed incorrectly and is more likely 1897.

George Washington Dotson
Hello, I am looking for information on my ggrandfather George Washington Dotson of Franklin County, AR. He was an orphan and listed as a servant in the 1880 census, age 7, living with the family of Pleasant Nichols. If you have any clues as to where I could look for his parents it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Stephanie Diamond
