I am more than willing to try to take pictures of graves around the Wenatchee area. Wenatchee City Cemetery is the easiest for me. I am also willing to do obit lookups if they are needed. Funny thing, I can't go to my own family graves but I feel right at home at the cemeteries here, go figure.|
I would be happy to do corrections or transfer a grave to a relative.

Ok Leslie, I need to look at it all again. I had found her death certificate and posted it on her memorial, which I can take off, if you want. But I am sure it's her, and it lists her parents as Carter and Jane Loyd Shields.

Leslie, I sent you a message through the edit on her but wanted to leave you a message too. This Hattie was not the daughter of David and Jane. She was actually the daughter of Carter and Malinda Jane (Loyd) Shields. Ken is mistaken on this. So sorry!

I noticed you said she is your great great great grandmother also... Mine, too. Are you perhaps the other one leaving flowers at the graves? and did you have the other Elizabeth's headstone straightened at Miller Cemetery? I always wished I could meet whoever left the other flowers. I didn't get there lately since I moved to WA. My ex boyfriends wife is buried at Miller and I wandered around one day and found Elizabeth. We were going to fix her headstone and found it already done.
Lucinda is my great great grandma. Her daughter Jane Ann is my great grandma and Jane Ann's daughter Jane Lorinne is my grandma. One of my ex's daughters now husband is also related to the Clymer family. His ancestor is I believe Lucinda's sister... so two of my ex's grandsons are related to me... they don't know yet, they were too little to understand. We are amiacable, or however you spell it, so someday.... I lived around Salem since around 1953 or so and we never knew any of my dad's family was around. I don't think he even knew. He died in 1960 so I couldn't tell him. I will stop now since this is public...

Glad to have helped. Another trip is needed but over 50% of the cemetery is photographed finally.

Sorry, Leslie. In my first reply to your message, I neglected to answer the part about "look at Jessie's memorial to see if you see anything wrong." Now that I look closely at it, I see that you have a death date of 1931 in one place and a death date of 1941 in the other, and I don't know which is correct. I'm pretty certain that my SAC to you had to do with linking rather than changing any dates. Also, you omitted a comma after Pittsfield, but that's just a typo, so I can't imagine anybody messaging you about it. Firman is there correctly as the maiden name. I have a feeling that the person who had created the dup may not have had it as the maiden name, but that seems irrelevant if the dup is gone. So far as Jessie's last name is concerned, the F.A.G. FAQs tell you just to put the person's _final_ surname, so their preference would be that her last name be _only_ Jero with no Walker there. And they specificially disallow punctuation marks in the name like the hyphen, but lots of people seem to ignore that rule, and I know my SAC to you didn't question the way you had the last name. It is important for the indexing, however, of course. I can understand your wanting to get Walker up there at the top of the memorial because she was survived by her Walker children, but F.A.G.'s answer would be, "You can say that in the bio section, but at the top of the memorial she should be Jero." I hope this helps. Although I'm not a relative, I'd be willing to accept a transfer and deal with all this if you're finding it a burden. But I'm equally happy if you keep management of it yourself. ~ Jay

Yes, thanks for the corrections. And thanks for the generous offer to transfer, but I'm not related to Jessie. Like you, I just try to help out with Find A Grave memorials when I know I can add/correct something. I got into the Firman family in your area via Corp Jacob Benjamin Firman (#22381275), and I always think it's nice, particularly with a Civil War soldier, to try to link his children to him if possible. I recall that there was a dup of your memorial for Jessie, and I sent the person who had created it a friendly heads-up, so possibly he/she is the one who is now asking questions about your memorial. If I can answer any questions, I'm always happy to try to help. ~ Jay
|Carolyn Harkness||birth date For Elizabeth Vance Clymer|
According to her grave stone--in 1853 she was
60 years old. That would make her born in 1793
or so. You have 1761 as a birth date-- typo??
