Thought for the day: If you're waiting for your chance to win the lottery, take a look at some of these headstones where the person lived a few decades, a few years, a few months or even just a few hours and then you'll realize you're already the big winner.|
I've been doing general genealogy for a little over a year now (as of August '09). I get pictures of headstones here and there hoping it will help somebody somewhere and I consider it an honor to post cemetery information of the men and women that served this great land called the United States of America.
I've taken cemetery pictures in 39 states, DC, Canada, England and the Bahamas. My favorite place for pics is definitely (southern) Louisiana.
Some of the surnames in my tree include Thompson, Liles, Southards, Chester, Stacks, Causey, Shipp and McDaniel.
The (famous) ancestor that I am most proud of is King Robert (the Bruce) I of Scotland.
UPDATE: April/2012 (I almost made it three years without putting some sort of gripe in my bio) - If you're going to ask for a transfer, please don't use some cheap excuse like, "I would like to link them to my family" or "I would like to make updates". Any knucklehead can do those things. Just ask for the transfer and I'll probably do it. I generally don't even care about the transfer guidelines. Honesty is more important. Just say (something along the lines of), "They are directly or indirectly related to me and I would like to have them."
Gripe #2 (July 2012) - Please don't post death certificates where you are supposed to put pictures of the person and headstone. Send a SAC with the birth and/or death information and parents if available. About the only thing left is what they died of and do we really need to know that?!?!

Sent obit to other memorial to document the name and and birth/death dates.
Will delete mine when theirs is updated.
Thanks for the information.
You created a memorial page for Winifred Liebscher (wife of Edward Liebscher). You have listed Winifred's maiden name as Mahoney, but this is incorrect. Mahoney was her mother's maiden name. She was the daughter of Joseph E. Carr and Mary A. Mahoney; her maiden name was Carr. She can be found in the 1900 and 1910 census living in her father's household (Joseph Carr). Also, the California death index lists her mother's maiden name as Mahoney. Also her affidavit for marriage license lists her father as Joseph Edward Carr and her mother as Mary Mahoney.

|Tangent||RE: Margaret Masilio Giambrone Puloma|
I'm afraid that you may have missed the actual point of the edit I sent.
The edit was not to change the maiden name from "Masilio Giambrone" to "Masilio" AND to change the surname frrom "Puloma" to "Giambrone Puloma". I sent the maiden name edit only. The name Giambrone,which is apparently from a first marriage (judging by her son's surname), is not appropriate for any of the name fields.
The site naming conventions (for non-famous memorials) are that only ONE name belongs in each name field. The surname from a first marriage, when the deceased used a different surname at the time of death, does *not" belong in *any* name field.
Quoting from https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?searchArg=Naming+conventions&page=listFaqs#147
Last Name as you would find it on the tombstone, if the interred had more than one marriage or other possible spellings please place this information in the bio and use the family links."
Accordingly, I am resending the name edit and also sending an "Other" edit with a potential phrasing about her name for the bio field.
Thanks for understanding that the site rules sometimes get in the way of what seems appropriate to us as contributors.

|Tia Rutledge||Permission to use photos|
First I want to thank you for your time and effort in taking and uploading photos to the website. I would like to ask your permission to save the photos to my computer system that you took for FindaGrave.com for my personal genealogy research and posting to my family tree online. I will give credit to your work. Will you permit me to do that?
I really appreciate this,
