lannan -lannon etc
I know exactly what you are saying about the spelling.Folks coming over couldn't spell nor could most census takers. Also,my folks say that most of these folks could only get jobs with the railroad who had strict nepotism rules so they would simply make a small change in their spelling -- just to get a job where other relatives worked. My great grandfather was John Charles Lannon. He had 4 sons, 2 of which stayed with Lannon & 2 that changed to Lannan.
With all that said, we didn't have any folks (that I know of)in CO.

Thanks for your reply. I know find a grave volunteers are busy & am amazed with all the information you have put together. THANKS!

missing Ryans
Elizabeth Ryan 18299189 has a picture at the cemetery showing several Ryans etched on it. However, the Ryans shown in the picture are not shown on the index or is there a headstone picture.

I know you've got plenty of other things to do buy thought I'd let you know that some folks are apparently missing.

RE: Infant Daughter Akens
Thank you so much for the name of the other twin. I figured I would never find out her name. I wonder if that was her "real" name.

Are you related to the Akens family?

My daughter's mother-in-law was an AKENS. John Hamilton, William Harrison Aken's brother, was her great-grandfather.

I have almost the entire Akens family history.

William H Akens
William's middle name is Harrison. I have at least 7 documents proving his middle name. For some reason "Harry" and "Henry" got confused. His brother's name was Charles "Henry" Akens. Apparently the "H" became confusing and somehow "Harry" became "Henry". I am sure there were NOT two brothers using the name Henry. Charles used his middle name quite frequently.

William and Rosella had 6 children:
Bradley D. Akens, David Morrison Akens, Oka May (Akens) Kile, Asa C. Akens and Hamilton John Akens.

William's siblings are: David Akens,(William Harrison Akens, Mary Ann (Akens) Dart, John Hamilton Akens, Joseph E. Akens, Sarah (Akens)Wilkison,d. 1881-married Joseph McConaghy WILKISON, Morrison Akens, Nancy E.Akins, (An Attorney) Charles Henry Akins, Tryphena (AKENS)-
married Joseph McConaghy, her sister Sarah's husband about 1883, and Marrion Akens

RE: Infant Daughter Akens
Did you know she is a twin? I don't know what happened to the twin sister. She apparently lived and may have been adopted out or another relative raised her. Wish I knew her name. She was still alive on the 6th of July 1892.

RE: pic of Samuel I. Barnes
If you have any info on Samuel Barnes's son Robert, or any of
other children he had, please share. I only have an approximate birth date from a census.
