Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have put a great deal of time into creating many of these memorials. I am continually researching the memorials that I've created and often find more tidbits of information to add. If you have anything you'd like added, let me know.

Please read the Find a Grave policy to see whether your request qualifies a transfer. If it falls within the guidelines, then, please use the EDIT button on the top right of the person's memorial page when you want to request a transfer since it provides me with the link to that memorial.

Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) will not be transferred. The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.

I am more than happy to have anyone add their personal photos of people on a memorial. However, I discourage adding death certificates and genealogy material in printed form out of a book.

I'm trying to piece together some of my relatives. Do you have any information on Ruth Caro. I believe she may be the sister to Earl Jackson Caro (#47061277)and Charlie B Caro (#29751840)?

Steve Grahl
Hi Donna, I am Steve Grahl from North Carolina. The Rickers and Ricks are ancestors of mine. They originated in TN and sometime around 1900 or so some of them came to N.C. and some went to Oklahoma changing the name to Ricker. Just wondering if you have any info on this or which one left TN and came to Oklahoma. I keep running into dead ends. Thanks for any help and for what you do on findagrave.............Steve Grahl

RE: Gravestone of Rickart ancestor
Thank you Donna. You and I think alike. If I were doing grave photos I would want them to be shared and used.

When we were at a cemetery in West Plains, Missouri in the mid 1990s. The head cemetery person suggested that we go buy a box of corn starch and lightly pat it into the indentions (name/date, etc.) then take a cloth and gently brush off the excess outside of the indentions. That really made the name/date, etc. stand out for photographs.

He also said it doesn't scrape like chalk does.

My husband, a PhD research chemist said that Corn Starch won't interact with the stone or anything on the stone. And it will dissolve and wash away in the first rain.

I haven't seen this suggested much in gravestone photo how-to,
