|Hi, I AM 63 RETIRED,AND AN AVID GENEALOGIST. FAMILY HISTORY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME,AND IF BY TAKING PICTURES,I CAN IN SOME WAY SAVE A LITTLE PART OF PEOPLE'S HISTORY,THEN I FEEL LIKE I'VE ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING. I LIVE IN ODESSA,TEXAS,|
AND WILL GLADLY CHECK OUT CEMETERIES WITHIN A 200 MILE RADIUS, AND FARTHER IF I CAN. IF I HAVE MADE A MISTAKE OR IF I LIST SOMEONE THAT YOU WANT TRANSFERRED ,LET ME KNOW.
FEEL FREE TO USE MY PHOTO'S;JUST PLEASE GIVE ME CREDIT FOR TAKING THEM OR OWNING THEM.-- I have the only photo of one of my great grandmother's on here. Someone added it to their family tree on Ancestry.com with no mention of where they got it,or what family link it came from. Now it's being added from one tree to another,without anyone being aware of our link into that family.I don't think that is right.
If anyone comes across "ANY" family of theirs I've listed and you would like to manage their memorial's,just let me know.I don't do this to build up numbers,but to try and save as much family history on these stones as I can.It doesn't matter to me how close or how far apart the family link may be.
Don't want to ruffle any feathers,but I would like to ask that when you are sending me death locations or other info, & if you are only going by the SSDI, please do further research before doing so. A lot of people are taking what the SSDI has listed as proof positive that what it has is the place they died.That's not always so.If you click on the SSDI link it states that the location listed is the last place of residence .I've had people send me death location on the new edit tab or other info,I'll add it,then have someone else get upset that I'm listing incorrect info.

I checked this memorial and it is not mine to remove. Belongs to someone named Hunt I think.

Thank you, LaDonna, for your reply and your help. I guess we can wait and see what other contributors do about my notes to them about the half-sibling issue. Thank you for adding Thurmond's mother. I caused all the trouble myself by adding a duplicate record for the mother Sarah Brown some time ago, just discovered it, and have been working to cure the problem. She was sister to my grandfather. She and William Lawrence Dickerson never married anyone else. I have visited in her home as a youth where she was a bed-ridden invalid for many years.
Thank you for all you have done and are doing. Ann

Thanks for the reply. Ruby Jewel Jordan was the daughter of Frank Ashley Jordan and Henrietta "Retta" Biggs. Frank died at age 28, and he is buried in Rawlings Cemetery along with several members of his Jordan family. Ruby was just about two years old when her father died, and Retta married Elmer Grounds. Retta and Elmer are also buried in Rawlings Cemetery.
I'm trying to determine whether Frank Ashley Jordan was killed in WWI. His date of death (at 28) was on the very last day of the war. That's another one of those things I have to chase down.
Crockett must be another marriage. Maybe I can run that down also.
|Kevin Barksdale||RE: Lula Sumrall|
Thank you for adding my mother, and Uncle Tex to Grandma's (Lula Vivian Sumrall) page. Both my mother and Uncle Tex were cremated and had their ashes spread so there is no cemetery to list for them. Uncle Bob, Robert Kent Sumrall, you already have a post for. He was buried in Garden City Cemetery, the same as Grandma.
I do really appreciate this.
Respectfully, Kevin Barksdale

Afternoon from Rocky Mountain Country. Would you please add the tombstone picture you have for Milton Arthur HARRISON (1906-1976) to his wife's memorial (Grace Evelyn ROWELL HARRISON #182912481). Many thanks for the posting the pictures!
