Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on family history now for 37 years. I am originally from Lancaster, SC now residing in Columbia, SC. I have travelled the country looking for grave sites related to Youngs, Steeles/Steels, Heglers, Williams, Stewmans, Dentons, McCains, Blackmons, Stogners, Finchers, Manns, Lowerys, Hartsells, Miskelleys, Catoes, McManus', McAteers and others. Any information on any of these families will always be appreciated. Thanks to all those who have been so great at helping and transferring and leading me to the right places to get the family together. (Sorry if I ask for the aunts, uncles, cousins, the great aunts and great uncles and the such. They are family and if you are not related I don't understand the problem.) I do not mind transferring any memorial that I've created that is not in my family group(except for spouses) Please email or leave a public message, Thanks ever so much again. PS- an occasional statement has been made about the number of memorials managed vs created. I have requested to manage a number of memorials of a family member who passed away in order to keep the work up on the family history.

McManus Family
Hello I am the granddaughter of Vernon McManus (Ira & Annie McManus). I have traced our history back as follows:

Annie McManus (& Howard) --> Effie McManus --> Annie Hegler --> Mary Cato --> Jane & Russell Sowell

I was wondering if you had any information on who may have been Jane or Russell's parents and what area they may have been from (Lancaster?)

Thanks so much!!

RE: Photos
OMG, some of my pictures from my step dad were the same way, so should have seen me with a quarter trying to scratch off that nasty black paper!!!!

RE: Theodore Merten Alexander
Yes he is the one. I'm not related by blood to him, his sister Ona Alexander married my half brother's great grandfather Zeubulon Goodwin as his 2nd wife.

I found another descendant of Theodore today, I just sent her the two pictures that I have of Theodore. I'm waiting for her to confirm that the pictures are truly him, unfortunately hardly any of my pictures have names on them.

I'll let you know what I find out.

Theodore Alexander
Hi Robert,
Are you related to Theodore? I believe I have a picture of him and Dona.

RE: Re Stella Eugenia Gilbert Barford
Her grave is in the section I call the Main Hill (see aerial photos on my Website at www.stephensroots.com).

It's in the SE quadrant, lower section. That section is relatively small, so you should be able to find the marker in the winter.

Best wishes.
James

RE: Re: Duplicate
I understand totally. It can get very confusing, especially when dealing with a lot of memorials. Thanks for all your hard work!!

If the U.S. Pensioner's list is correct she received a widow's payment in June 1847 and Sep 1847 column is marked "Dead". Perhaps who ever did the tombstone was not aware of this. Wife of Ripley Copeland
