Mary Harris and David Proctor had one daughter, Davie Proctor born 1879 and buried in Liberty Hill Cemetery (not a son and she is only child with Mary on 1880 census. Sorry for the mistake.
|Tom Goldrup||David R. Proctor, Liberty Hill Cemetery, Attala, Mississippi|
Howdy: Just had a question and wondering if you might know. David R. Proctor was a Confederate soldier who married three times. He died August 1879 and buried Liberty Hill Cemetery in Attala Co., Mississippi. One of his wives were a kin to me named Mary Harris. She and David had a son born a few months before David R. died named Davie who died in 1889 and buried in that cemetery with the inscription "son of D.R. and Mary Harris." Thus it appears Mary was David's last wife and she is a widow in 1880 living with her mother in Attala County with her son Davie and another. My question is that David's second wife must be Sallie E. and they had a child named David who died in infancy in 1877. Mary Harris has a sister Sallie E. Harris and I was wondering if she might be the wife of David R. Proctor also. I notice a Sallie E. Proctor buried in same cemetery who as the right age to be Mary's sister, but since she died some years later it seems she wouldn't be David's wife since his wife Sallie had an infant son in 1877 and Mary and David had a son born 1879....unless something happened and David and Sallie separated and then he married her sister Mary. This is confusing to me and was hoping you might be able to straighten this puzzle out for me. Much thanks...Tom Goldrup.

You sent an edit to change the "J" to Jane on her memorial. I am excited to hear from someone about this memorial, as I am any memorial with only initials and no names. Can you send me a little "Bio" on her? what was the name of the husband? And is Eliza, the child buried her a daughter? Any information you can provide will help complete this memorial.
