Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Rockcastle County Ky.I have always been interested in Cemeteries.I find it very peaceful roaming through them wondering about the people buried there.I have made some interesting discoveries doing this.If anyone finds any errors I have made please feel free to let me know and I will be more than happy to correct them.If possible. Here is a couple of poems I came across that I would love to share.

THE CEMETERY PHOTOGRAPHER

Wandering among the stones I see
The stones so weathered and worn
‘Tis difficult to find the date
On which the babe was born

I stare at the stone and am struck with awe
At the life that I knew was gone
This was someone's child, a babe so sweet
With loved ones to carry on

So I take a photo for all to see
For the family that remains
An everlasting memory of
A child of God's domain

I brush the weeds back from the stone
And say a silent prayer
For the babes that had no chance to live
And for mothers everywhere

The dove calls out it's mourning song
Among the stones so still
Echoes of the woes, through time
The choirs of despair

The stone will someday perish
The flowers will be gone
But a photo now remains of this
Their memory lives on!

And so my friend, don't hesitate
To film the weathered stone
Those who live within your hearts
Are never truly gone

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY

Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

Thank you for taking so many photos of my family . I had no idea there was a "Smith Cemetery " in Rockcastle. I had scoured Clay and Jackson Co for Joseph Smith and Mariah Stewart children.
What a wonderful surprise !

RE: Albert Foster Lamb # 7009090
Well Margaret, thank you so much for the "real story"......my interest is related to the Irene Lamb married to Edward "Eddie" Burton Meadows 1919-1999 (Find A Grave#140949852) on Apr 23, 1976 in Carson City, NV...He had been married to Nora Lee Riddle 1909-1982(Find A Grave#122340362)....her first husband died in some kind of electrical accident and she just disappeared ...no one ever knew what happened to her. I finally found a record in California where she had married Eddie Meadows and I found her grave where she died in 1982...but Eddie married Irene Lamb in 1976...so I was confused and had to start tracking Eddie..to find out if they were one and the same. Finally found Eddie's headstone and there and behold is Irene Lamb on the same stone, but no death info; so starts the hunt for just who is Irene Lamb....The only Irene Lamb I could track was the one in your tree, and that Irene (1929-1986) is buried in a plot alone (Find A Grave#12871679) and not with Eddie Meadows..As you can see she died before Eddie...so why isn't she buried with him in the plot with her name on it...

Albert Foster Lamb # 7009090
I am so confused...I see quite clearly that Albert and his wife were married 11/10/1947. There is another wife attached to his grave site. Irene Lamb, and she had three children in the late 40s with the last name of Lamb. I cannot find the Lamb that might be their father, but something tells me that it wasn't Albert Foster Lamb. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
