Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born in Ithaca, NY; grew up in Atlanta, and lived for some time in Auburn, AL and Edmonton, Alberta. Currently living in Athens, GA.

I became interested in family history, mine and anyone else's, as a kid, when I was reminded every Thanksgiving that I'm a direct descendant of a Mayflower passenger. Being conscious of this connection between me and these people from way back then who we learned about in school gave me an appreciation that we've all come from someone, we all are part of a story, and everyone's story is worth hearing and remembering.

I've just gotten serious about genealogy in the last few months. The families I'm most interested in are these:

Howland--Mass, NY, NC
McEwewn--Oneida, NY
Adams--Madison and Elbert counties in GA and Albermarle, Goochland, and Campbell counties, VA
Smith--Walker county GA and Rockingham & Guilford counties, NC
Buckley--Fairfax & Culpeper counties, VA
Detwiler/Detweiler--Montgomery county PA and Fairfax county VA
Hitt--Fauquier, Culpeper, & Madison counties, VA
Thornhill--Madison & Culpeper counties, VA

As time & resources permit, I'm happy to try to address photo requests in within a couple hundred miles of Athens, GA.

I did some more research, and yes they are my husband's 4th GGrandparents. May I use your photos in my PC-based genealogy program (Not for publication)?

Thanks so much for the photos. I see you had to do some housekeeping to get a good shot, thanks for the extra effort! I think these might be parents of my husband's 3rd GGmother, Martha W. Hawkins. Need to do more research to be sure. Thanks again!

I think hubby is related to everyone in Oglethorpe County, lol...
