"I will show you fear in a handful of dust." T.S. Eliot|
We are not so much afraid of dying, as we are of no one remembering we existed at all.
We only walk this earth because of the people before us. Every name is a memory to a life, not just a branch in a tree. Sometimes all that echoes through time is a name, a date, a relationship, a headstone. But bringing those things together here is remembering the person who lived, and I am proud to be a part of this community of volunteers who spend their free time to send the message "you have not been forgotten"
Still active as of November 2014. If you have any information to add to any memorials I have created please let me know but use the EDIT- SUGGEST A CORRECTION feature. Please also use this feature when inquiring about a specific memorial, the comments section below is not helpful in directing me with a link to see what you are talking about.
PROCESSING EDITS: I know about the feature, but I don't blindly click all. Have patience, I will get to it, but I do check- I will also look for an obituary for you if its here in Oregon. So have patience, check back when you get the email, it might be worth a look.
DO YOU KNOW? Find A Grave will automatically process all untouched edits after 3 weeks. Yep. that contributor who's been ignoring your requests for years didn't just finally get with the program.
DO YOU KNOW? if you mess up a submission you can go to your own edits page, use the drop down menu to find edits you have submitted, find the edit you did and delete and redo if it hasn't been processed. Pretty Nifty if you ask me. Edits on Find A Grave are finally happening and they have fixed some of the flaws from the initial launch.
PHOTOS: I took the photo to help you! If you would like any of the photos I have taken for your own family tree, you are welcome to them. If its a family photo I added though, please contact me! I don't mind sharing, I have a public tree on ancestry.com that I will give you directions to for more photos (if I have them). Our ancestors should be remembered by all who want to preserve a piece of who they were. My collection is the work of many who believed in saving photos of cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents they never knew and then taking the time to share them with me. As we pass through this world, I feel better knowing my ancestors wont disappear and pictures forgotten if multiple people from all over have the key.

Thank you Erin!
I appreciate you transferring Harold's memorial to me. Now I need to get the info posted to his page.
Thank you for the initial creating of his memorial.
|sellgen||Anita and Pearl Short|
Thank you so much for the transfer of Aunt Anita and Uncle Pearl Short. We're working togethet to get information together for their son, as he was never able to trace Uncle Pearl's side and is now showing signs of Alzheimer's. I've traced Uncle Pearl back through his mother's side to the Putnam family who came to New England in the 1600's and who had three generals in the Rev. War. Gen. Rufus Putnam is his ancestor and I want him to have the information before it's too late.
Thanks again. Sellgen

Thank you for the Carlock family transfers. Also thank you for posting memorials for them. Your time and effort are greatly appreciated by the family.
Hoping all is well with you and yours,
|Betty Frank||Clarissa Jane Kilborn Johnson|
There was a death certificate on seekingmichigan.org that made reference to the place of burial. I did have the death certificate displayed on the memorial page at one time but findagrave must have deleted it. There is a copy in the Clare library's genealogy room.
|Greg Biehl||Mary Ann Smith|
I really identify with your bio on findagrave. Thank you for your service. I am the ggg grandson of Mary Ann Week, memorial #105782221. Would you consider transferring this memorial to me. My member # is 48725322.

Checked with Surrey Twp. clerk and they show no record of this person being at Surrey Twp. Cemetery.
Certificate of Death record show that she died in Farwell, Surrey Township, but not where she was buried
