Available to take cemetery photos in the Northern Virginia area. I have been doing genealogy since the early 1980's. My dad was from Connellsville, Pa. and my mom was from Clarksburg, West Virginia. Primary family names researched are Edmundson, (Edmondson), Hayden, Kennison, Whigham, Curry, McGee, McKee, Sinclair. Areas, focus in Pennsylvania: York, Chester, Pittsburgh, McKeesport, Connellsville, Haydentown, Uniontown, Port Vue, Elizabeth, Glassport, Fayette, Westmoreland, Allegheny. Family interests in Quakers and Mayflower descendants. The Edmundson family arrived in America about 1715, from England through Ireland. Personal interest in the Quaker, William Edmundson, founder of Quakerism in Ireland.|

I have not been in the cemetery for years. I found the list of burials in the McKeesport Library in about 1989. They were I believe in the old Edmundson Newsletters. I placed the list at the McKeesport Heritage Center. So that would be about the first time I was in the cemetery. I found my Calhoun graves. Think I was lucky to find one uncovered and had to remove dirt from the others.
As for which Edmundsons were removed from the Edmundson Cemetery I found the following in the McKeesport Versailles Cemetery
John Edmundson died Dec 11 1897
Single grave 1 range 2 seperate grave sec H
(Removed from Edmundson Cemetery
Cordelia wife of John d. Aug. 3 1905 int. 16721
(Removed from Edmundson Cemetery special grave 6 range2)
Nancy Calhoun Edmundson d.Dec 27 1862

Sarah Edmundson d June 2 1895
John Edmundson d. Dec.2 1863

I sent you a message on your email. I hope you get it. I am interested in learning about William Edmundson one of my GGrandfathers. Going to Ireland in April to find my family roots. What things should I see to walk in his footsteps.

I understand the frustrations of distance. It was easy to make this mistake as there are really 3 different cemeteries that serve Home City -- Home City North; Home City South (Fairview) and this old one just called "Home". Anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
I have a strong suspicion that this entry #75969007 was wrongly identified with the "Home" cemetery, which is a very small, unused cemetery sw of Home City. It probably was from the "Home City Cemetery" which is a large, well-used cemetery a mile north of Home City. Cyrus and the rest of the Edmundsons are now buried in the Marysville Cemetery adjacent to the Schwarz/Wuester group, which was moved from the Home City Cemetery. I suspect that the Edmundsons were moved at the same time.

Yes, please use the photos on Find A Grave. My mother took lessons from Garth and his wife, Ann. I remember sitting in the room where the organ was located. It was a beautiful instrument. Ann had a concert grand in the dining room. She was my teacher for many years. New Castle is my hometown. Let me know when you go to PA. I live in CA or I would take the photos for you. I love visiting New Castle, but I cannot afford to travel at this time. How exciting for you!

I do not have a photo of Garth. I have a photo of his wife.
