I love the peace and quiet of cemeteries. (There are no telemarketers calling.) I also love taking pictures. The exercise is at my own pace. The stones are interesting, and they absolutely need to be documented before they are lost to the ravages of time. |
I am happy to make transfers, of anyone whose not related to me.
I'm 10 generations forward from my Mayflower ancestor George Soule. I'm 13 generations from my New Haven founder Capt. Nathaniel Turner. 13 Generations is 1024 direct ancestors (doesn't count siblings etc.) My husband also has 1024 direct ancestors going back to the Mayflower. That's 2048 direct ancestors. I haven't found them all in the 40+ years I've been researching. But I'm still looking. Thanks to all of you members at Find a Grave, who are making finding their burial places easier.
PLEASE use the EDIT tab for suggestions, corrections and transfers. I'm happy to make changes, but I'm going to ask you for a source, if it's not directly on the stone. (Using the new edit system you can send source information through the "Suggest any other correction or addition" line.) The internet is a wonderful thing for genealogists but it's also very good at spreading misinformation, and I am trying very hard not to spread undocumented genealogy. That's one of the reasons I love Find a Grave, because I can look directly at a gravestone and see exactly what it says and don't have to depend on second and third hand information. Happy hunting.
PHOTOS OF GRAVESTONES. Please feel free to use mine, that's why I took them. I do like to get credit, though. "ASB"
PHOTOS OF PEOPLE. I've posted them to be enjoyed by visitors to Find a Grave. I was a little taken aback to see my mother's photo on Ancestry. So you're welcome to use them, for your personal use, but I would appreciate it, if you would avoid posting them to other internet sites.

I apologize if I gave you the wrong memorial number for his father. When I open the page for Frank's memorial, it shows his name as father, child and sibling. I'll email Find A Grave about it, since it's clearly a glitch. Thanks

Glad I could help. Take care John

ASB: Having re-re-reviewed my Knowles files and because I didn't hear back from you about review of the Cross headstone I went ahead and posted my strongest substantive images. They are of sufficient DPI to, I believe, substantiate my case for being the correct images. Also since "Marcus" is the sole person with that name within. If you disagree please let me know and I will delete same. John

Yes, if you will do this, I will try my best to add to her memorial. I am not kin to her, or the family as far as I know, but may have some related families in my husband's line that would intersect.
Thank you for all you do for Find a grave. It is appreciated.

I noticed you were the one to post his grave, do you have any other info on the Marroquin family?? I have hit a dead end and anything could help!

Hello there Kiddo. Your inquiry and response prompted me to seek my original notes & check my "unknown" almost unreadable headstones for this cemetery. Have about 5 standing. All almost unreadable due to age. Will be happy to discuss same, in depth, maybe we can iron something out but too lengthy for this public message format. If you'd like, send me an email at my verizon address listed above and we can swap image candidates and ideas. I'm just remiss about posting something I'm not absolutely sure of. You understand. Ay I love your Traveling Companion. You'd think with so many entries in just 6 yrs he be more the "worse for wear". Diligent Work ! Let me know and take good care. your Bud John

I attempted to fulfill your photo request. This memorial page is in the incorrect cemetery. She is buried in Old Storrs Cemetery Mansfield CT with a memorial page and gravestone photo already taken.
