WE are both retired City of Atlanta Police Officers and are interested in history and geneology. Although we are concerned with our own family histories, we are also interested in the graves of others. We try to fulfill requests in our area, but we also photograph the older forgotten cemeteries that are falling to ruin. We feel it is important to preserve a memorial before time and nature make it unknown. We are not doing this for the numbers, but for others who have a sense of family and history. Please feel free to use any pictures we have posted on Find A Grave. If you are a family member, we will gladly transfer management to you. Additionally, if we've made a mistake, please let us know so we can correct it.|

|Jean Padgett||RE: Riley Moody/Padgett family|
Are your Padgetts linked to Riley Moody?
If so we are kin.
Riley Moody is my husband's 4th g-grandfather.
Btw I have found most of his and my ancestors started out settling in VA or one of the northern states and migrated eventually to NC, then SC, then GA, and some on to AL.
Family Roots seeker,
Jean & Glenn Padgett
|Jean Padgett||Riley Moody/Padgett family|
Just down the interstate from the Atlanta area we live--another Padgett doing genealogy on the Moody link to the Padgett family. My husband, Glenn Earnest Padgett's 4th great-grandfather was Riley Moody who was married to Mary B. "Polly" Thomason.
Glenn's great-grandfather, Benjamin "Ben" Franklin Padgett married Ebbie Moody; and that's how his family became linked to the Moody line.
His 2nd great-grandfather was George Washington
Padgett married to Amanda Florilla Moncus. Then his 3rd great-grandfather was Jobe Padgett (born in 1787 in S.C.) married to Mariah Darden (born in 1802 in GA.).
I think they first settled around Talledega, Al and then came on down to Clay Co. and Randolph, AL.
Do any of the names sound like your ancestors?
Jean and Glenn Padgett

I added Nannie in 2008 with more detail but no picture. Could you delete yours and add your picture to mine or transfer my data to your entry.

You added photo of a grave to a memorial for Nannie C Blount (#77424132) in New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Yatesville. The photo should be posted on Nannie E Blount (#168760164). Please correct. Thanks!

The marriage record is posted. I put the source, but did not do a full transcription as the copy is fairly easy to read.
|Spirit Consort||RE: William Morgan|
Thank you! I have made the Edits for dates and relationship with his parents. I have not found a memorial for his wife. I do not where she is buried now.
Little more work needed on Sarah T. Mann Morgan's cenotaph photo note. She is buried in the Morgan-Mann-Reeves Cemetery. "In Memory of the family of Thomas Kindred Morgan..." cenotaph is located in the Smith Cemetery. I do not think the two cemeteries are across the street from each other from the directions for both in "The Cemeteries of Upson County, Georgia, 2nd Edition".
Much appreciation again for your time and effort.

Thank you for adding the new memorial for Robert Morgan. I have sent Edits for his birth and death dates and places. Edit relationship link to his parents. Two of his siblings should be posted after you accept his parents. Edit for his middle name, James. He never married so no spouse link.
Hoping to get the date, battle and place of battle information on his death.
Much appreciation again for your time and effort!
