Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been doing my family's genealogy for over 30 years, and am grateful to all those who either helped directly or who have posted info in various places which has helped. I try to pay it forward so others can learn about our shared families.

I am researching, in western NC (and occasionally eastern TN along the NC-TN border): Wheeler, Honeycutt, Hensley, Hampton, Byrd, Silver, Ray, and other associated families.

And in the area where southwest GA, southeast AL, and north FL intersect: Hurst, Davis, Bozeman, Stewart, Swearingen, Perry, and other associated families. Some of this research also extends a little further north and NE into GA, and also a little farther east into AL.

With a couple of exceptions, all the memorials I manage are indeed family members - so unless you are a child or grandchild of someone who is NOT one of my grands I prefer to retain management of the memorial. If you are that child or grandchild, of course I will turn them over to you - those who enter memorials on this site should not be proprietary about what is not theirs. (The exceptions are Luna & Robert Wiggins who are interred in the private Davis Cemetery in GA, to whom I am not related in any way - this is the burial site of my Davis ggg-grand and his 2nd wife and I didn't want to leave the Wigginses off the cemetery listing in case their descendants come looking for them).

Please remember to "pay it forward" when you are asked for help - none of us genealogy researchers would make progress without either the work of others they have made available or without the direct help of other researchers.

RE: New Release
The announcement will be up on that website soon. I will be sending you a notification soon. It's not in a soft back or hard bound format, I'm sorry to say, but the publishers' are chronically idiotic these days. If you really want to get it signed, we will work something out.
Take care and talk again soon!

New Release
Dear Irene,
My new WBTS book has been released by the Olde Buncombe Genealogical Society. It is now available and I wanted you to read it. You can find it online at This represents 12 long years of work, writing and research, so it's a long awaited victory. The book is titled, Mountain Conflict; The Union Army Finally Reaches Asheville. Be sure to pass it on to your comrades and friends as well.

RE: Hello from the Stewarts!
Amazing Irene. The way I'm related to William Stewart is through is son Basil, who then had Basil Manly Jr, and then he had my father Dale Stewart. Its incredible to reach a distant cousin if thats the correct term to use in this. Im also currently living in Miami where i think both basils and my father are buried here.

Hello from the Stewarts!
Hi Irene,

I'm Dane O. Stewart. I have been doing research of my family lineage for a wile now and came across this site. As I dug deeper I notice that William P. Stewart is my 2nd Great Grandfather. I also noticed you left flowers on Williams site. Is there by chance we are related in some way? Hope to hear from you soon!! God Bless.

RE: Elizabeth Jane Baker Silver
I am aware of the web site. I go to Kona Church often. My problem is getting the DAR to accept the information. The DAR wants proof that Elizabeth was my great grandfather's mother. No birth certificate and on his death certificate who ever filled it out put Sarah Ledford Silver, David's second wife as Robert Enoch Lee Silver in as his mother. We have tried to explain but it is falling on deaf ears. Thanks for your help cousin.

RE: Abi J. Bozeman Davis
I do have all of those dates for Abbie. Do you have an email address that I can send it to? Where did you get all of your info on Abi J and John? Do you have any pictures?

Abi J. Bozeman Davis

Abi J. is my great-great grandmother as well. Which of her children are you a descendant? I am a descendant of her daughter Mary Abigail Davis Dees (Abbie).

Passing Through for Hello
Hello Dear Irene,
Can you believe Wyatt Archives sent me a SAC asking me to transfer Marion Wyatt to him? I guess he thinks that I forgot all the mayhem that he caused on this site. He said that he wanted the "family to maintain his records." I say...poppycock! I won't even answer him, at all.
Bless you my friend!

Elizabeth Jane Baker Silver
You left information on my Great Great-grandfather Robert Enoch Lee Silver. You stated his mother Elizabeth Jane Baker Silver died in 1865. Do you have any documentation on her death? I can't find anything. Would be greatful for any help.Thank you Sherie Presnell.
