Sally Parker
Descendants of Matthew Alday 1847-1922
Hello, Shirley.

I am Sally Parker, a member of Reynolds Chapel UMC, Seminole Co., GA.

Our church has placed a historical monument in Ray's Lake Park on the site where Matthew Alday deeded 2 acres of land for our original church. We are going to be having a dedication ceremony at the park on Mar 1 at 4:00 PM.

We want to send invitations to any descendants in the area ( or close by). Do you know who we could contact for information?

Thank you.

RE: James Sampson Smith
Well, not actually, but my mother's brother was married to Addie and James Sampson's daughter, Myrtle. Addie would not be James Henry's mother. James Henry would have been James Sampson's son by a later marriage. Addie and James Sampson only had 3 children, a son Jack, a daughter Myrtle and another daughter Maudean who died at 8 years old from measles. Jack and Myrtle both are dead. Jack never married, but Myrtle had 9 children, but a son died at birth. My cousins might like to know their uncle.

In the 1940 Census Addie is listed as head of house hold and she is listed as Addie Lou Smith 33, Jack 16, Myrtle P. 14, Drayton E. 3 and Donald R. 2. James Sampson had already left Addie by this time from what I understand. Drayton and Donald are suppose to be Robinettes. Addie didn't marry Ernest Robinette until 1940 or 1941. Addie and Ernest Robinette had 2 girls after they married, Crissie and Emily.

Addie's half brother, Homer Lee Walker, married my grandmother's sister. Addie's half sister, Pocahontas (Pokie) Walker, married my uncle and another of Addie's half brothers, Gene, married a 2nd cousin to me.

Please, let me know if you know something they don't know, like, James Henry being Addie's son?

My Sincerest Condolences
Shirley, you do not know me but having just finished reading the book about your family's murders in 1973, I sought out more information and arrived here. Their stories will forever remain with me and I, although it comes 27 years later, I just wanted to express my sincerest condolences.
