Bio Photo After some unpleasant "long" messages left on my home page, I removed the message feature. If needed, email is carter467885 @ gmail dot com. Negative people have never looked into a mirror.

We all make duplicates, but PLEASE delete yours when notified. Or, send a note to FAG at edit@findagrave.com & ask them to merge your data to the original one. FAG rules on duplicates at this link:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=listFaqs#141

Remember, not all counties existed in the time frames in which you post a birth or death, so check out the formation of NC counties:

http://digital.ncdcr.gov/cdm/ref/collection/p16062coll9/id/290103

When posting FAG births/deaths/marriages, remember this:

- Surry County didn't exist until 1771 when created from Rowan County & Washington territory in current TN
- Stokes County didn't exist until 1777 when created from Surry County
- Yadkin County didn't exist until Dec 1850 when it was created from Surry County
- Forsyth County didn't exist until 1849 when it was created from Stokes County

If you take photos (and physically able), please remove grass or soil covering the graves to ensure a clear photo. If it was your ancestor, wouldn't you want the same courtesy? And "PLEASE" don't include your shadow or feet in the grave photo.

Primary maternal ancestors in Surry County were PATTERSON & WHITAKER. I volunteer with Surry County Genealogical Assoc to locate & document cemeteries & burials. Other lines include CRISSMAN, RING, LOGAN, EVANS, MAINARD, FULK, REDMAN, and HAYMORE.

Earliest paternal ancestors in Chatham County, GA - Benjamin Carter (b. abt 1828, d. 1862 & believed buried at Ft. Pulaksi) & Mary Tillman (b. abt 1837 & d. aft 1870). Other lines include WELLS, GROOVER (GRUBER), MOBLEY, PRICE, & ROBINSON.

If my burials are more directly related to you, I'll transfer ONLY if you prove your relationship. There's one or two FAG members who seem to be related to everyone, so be careful of the memorials you transfer.
