Charles H. Caldwell#1045105
I was wondering if you had any information about his family. I may be a descendent or long-lost cousin. My mother's maiden name was Caldwell. I'm having a hard time tracing the family. I thought maybe any information you had could help me rule in/out Charles.

Thank you for your time.

RE: M.B. Valentine #15421409
Thank you for the good information. I have learned what was thought to be M.B. Valentine on Newt Knights deserters roster was thought to be William Patrick Valentine. The information you shared shows he didn't permanently desert and later was captured and became a P.O.W. I do appreciate your response to my request.

RE: M.B. Valentine #15421409
Is that the same Unit Newt Knight fought at Corinth, MS.? His story was recently told in the Hollywood movie "Free State of Jones". M.B. Valentine is on the roster of Newt Knight's deserters from the Confederacy gang.

Found your listing and was needing to find her parents (Jacob Ridgon and Mary Ellen Alexander Rigdon) that you mentioned on the site. Do you know where they are buried?

Any idea who the 3rd wife was that Joseph Jones married after 1900 when his 2nd wife, Frances Railey died? His 1st wife was Sarah Ann Heard. Mary Francis Jones who m. John Tatum Blunt 1899 DeSoto Parish was his daughter from 1st wife. Oma Jones born 1900 was the daughter from the 2nd wife, Frances.....Just wondering who the 3rd wife was that you mention.....

Find a Grave photos
I am writing a two-volume book on the 8th Indiana. I would like to include photos of the soldiers and their headstones with their biographies. I would like to use some of your photos in the book and will give you credit in the caption for each photo. If you are interested, I can let you know when the book is published. The photo I need is the grave of Nelson Barnes (# 19941092). My research shows that he served in the 8th Indiana Infantry 3 month regiment and the 5th Indiana Cavalry. His pension record shows he died January 14, 1914 in Palestine, Texas. His obituary (The Houston Post, January 17, 1914)does not list his military service. You list him as a Confederate soldier; do you have records to verify this service?

Just asking...why are there 3 pictures of the same grave stone for Marcus Mallard on his Find A Grave memorial? Found it interesting and wondered if there is a reason for it.

Always finding something I don't understand on the web site and don't mean any disrespect for a Confederate soldier (have many, many as ancestors).
