Bio and Links
Bio Photo Live in Maryland; summer in the Adirondacks. Write historical articles for Weekly Adirondack in Old Forge and appear on , am interested in Adirondack and Fulton Chain historical figures, of whom many are in Oneida and Lewis Counties and other NY cemeteries, many now inactive, often in obscure locations. My book on the Fulton Chain region will be available in May 2017; contact North Country Books if not anywhere locally for you.

I work from my cemetery photos, then link the graves through trees, and newspaper sites such as and I often contact ancestry trees to let them know I've found their family members, especially if I've used their trees to confirm or help link family members on findagrave.

There is always a chance for errors and happy finger typos. So please do not hesitate to let me know if you find something needing correcting, have more family connections or question the links I've made, using the "Edit" tab on the memorial.

If you find I've added a photo where one was already present, I often take photos to get the whole stone and a closeup for clarity or to get the family group of stones. If I find a photo of part of a stone and I have the entire stone , if the back of stone is shown without the front, I will add my own to the benefit of the memorial and the deceased's family who may not be able to go to that location.

In like manner, if someone has a better, clearer photo than mine, please add it and don't hesitate to ask me to remove mine. Please contact me and I will be glad to do so for this any other reason.

I don't add to existing photos to replicate what is there or to add to my statistics. If you believe mine repeats what you've added without additional benefit, please ask me to remove mine and I will do so promptly.

Rather than add memorials from listings, I add memorials from walking the cemetery and taking photos.

Anything I add to findagrave is intended to be used by you.

RE: sorry about multiple messages, but one more quest.
My mom was cremated and Petes two sons and myself spread her ashes near the Episcopal Church in Star Lake, NY. She always said that was where she was happiest.

RE: Missing son, David Allen Watson
I just want to know why I'm not listed as one of his children when my sister is?

Missing son, David Allen Watson
I was wondering why I am not listed as a child of Leith Watson. I was born on sept. 18, 1941 in Lyons falls, N. Y. Mothers name Edith Watson.

re: Privett
There was already a memorial for Alma Privett created in 2000, but it shows you created a second one on 31 March 2017. I've uploaded the marker photo to the original memorial.
You can manually submit for the edits or you can request Find a Grave admin to merge your memorial for you.

Thank you,

Henry Langhirt
Thanks. I saw the other Henry Langhirt but with different dates. I thought he might be a different Harry but I'm going to go ahead and delete mine. Thanks. Jane

RE: Esme Mack Gilpin
This is indeed weird. I have more info, but it is lengthy. May I send you a private email, please?

New Bremen Cemetery
Hello Again,
In your collection of photos would you happen to have one of Walter J. Gilpin. I believe he is buried at New Bremen Cemetery with his Eva V. Secor Gilpin (#149710749 which you added). He died Nov. 7, 1959 about twenty years before Eva. There is a memorial for him in another cemetery but that one shows him to be married to someone named Esme L. Gilpin. I don't believe that's the same one, or it's in the wrong cemetery, and there are no photos of the headstones. As you are no doubt aware, memorials entered from death records alone are often not correct in the cemetery name, and the names and dates for Esme look at bit too similar to Eva. I thought I would check with you before taking a different tact.

Can you be of any help on this on?

Thanks again,

George Heilmann duplicate
Thanks for catching my duplicate. I am ashamed of myself as someone who grew up with 2 nn's (Feldmann) in my name. I didn't check the spelling for duplicates when I spelled him as Heilman. Don't tell my family; I'll never hear the end of that one, haha. Thanks, Jane
