Bio and Links
Bio Photo Transfers: I will transfer ownership to direct descendants within four generations - the same as Find A Grave guidelines. Otherwise, I'm happy to add to memorials and make links, just click on the "Edit" tab on the top right of the memorial.

One line of my ancestors (CROSE) lived in Tippecanoe Co., IN in the 1820s. Some of their cousins lived in the next county to the south, Boone, and some south of that in Hendricks Co. I live in northern Hendricks Co., and am taking photos mostly in Boone and Hendricks, including the older, more difficult to read stones. Hopefully, these photographs will be around longer than the headstones. Many are on the verge of not being readable - even with the sun at a good angle and using tricks to bring out the text.

Since I've been doing genealogy research for a number of years, I can see a real benefit in seeing headstones, rather than relying on a transcription. To me, the important thing is to be able to read the inscription (names & dates, child of ...), but not really the verse below it. It's also important to know who is buried next to who. I'll mention that if I notice a connection.

Cemeteries that are completed - meaning that I photographed everything and have posted all that was readable. Other transcriptions may have more names.
Beck - Bethel (Boone Co.) - Bethel (52nd St Indy) - Browns Wonder - Jones -
Lowry -Macedonia - Mintonye - Mt Union -
Mt. Zion - North Branch - Oak Hill (Sect 1-30, 34N & 34S) - Plainview (Colfax) - Pleasant Hill (Indy) - Pleasant View (Dover) - Poplar Grove - Prebster - Old Union Church - Richland - Robison - St. Malachy West - Salem - Sparks - Taylor - Trotter (I can only find 33 of the 64 markers) - Weaver - Zionsville

I currently use a 10M Canon Powershot camera which will take pictures at 3648 x 2736 pixels. Normally I reset the resolution to 2272 x 1704 and then on the computer, especially with worn headstones, I turn up the contrast 20-30%, and lower the brightness 5-10% and keep the compression at 98 to 99%. When I started posting for Find a Grave, the photo file size limit was 250 KB, then 350, 500, 750, 2000 3000 and now 8000 KB. I use photo editing software that I downloaded for free - it's much better than what Canon or Olympus gives you with their camera. With Photoscape I know the file size before I save the file.

George Alexander Doty
Hello Marc. Are you a descendent of the George Alexander Doty in the Vancouver BC Canada, Mountainview Cemetery?
If so, I am wondering if you have any photographs of George.
In researching my grandfather, I have found a post card with a photo of four lads in Canadian Expeditionary Force uniform, taken at Bramshott Camp in England, likely in 1918.
My grandfather noted two names with regimental numbers. One was George Doty, #435657.
I would be eager for a family member who might recognize a face to help nail down at last one face.
I will keep an eye open for your reply.

Child left out of list
My records show he had a daughter by the name of Johanna Peterson Nelson Cook.
She was born on May 1, 1858 at Langland, Denmark. At the age of 14, she came to America with her parents, Mr. & Mrs. C. H. Peterson.

David Harsh, Sr. Memorial# 175686587
David's mother is my sister-in-law and her name is Barbara Ann McFarland Harsh. Alice was Martin Lee Harsh's second wife and she was Not the mother of David. The Funeral Home is in the process of correcting this error. David's mother is still living.

Rufus Van Buren Snepp
Son of Emanuel L. Snepp and Rachel Burch Smock.

Sorry but there is an add right over the top of the "I am not a robot". I don't know what we can do about it but it keeps happening. Mark, if you find anymore Snepps you caan't place, let me know and mjust maybe I may have them. It is worth a try anyway.

RE: Anna Davis Jamison
Good morning Marc,
I will send you the edits for her family. I am new
to "Find A Grave", but I do a lot of research. There
are some find a grave contributors that don't appreciate my efforts, because when I send them edits they will make the changes and then decline
my edits. I don't understand why they do this.
God Bless you,

Find A Grave Memorial# 148792832
I found this article about the death of this lady. You may post to her memorial for other researchers, Thank you. Mary

Article appears in the Abilene Daily Reflector, Abilene, Kansas, 29 December 1888 reads...

Indianapolis, Indiana, December 29 - At Strawn Henry County, Elijah Haskel shot Miss Delilah Allison through the head at seven o'clock last evening and then shot himself also through the head and died in two hours. She was employed to do housework for Mr. E. R. Colburn, Haskell had been paying attention to her for some time and it is supposed that on his proposing marriage she refused him.
