Bio

Born in Southern Missouri, lived in Northern Arkansas until Dad died when I was 5. After his death, moved to Woonsocket, Rhode Island where my Mom was from. College in Maine - a 24 year stint in the Air Force then retirement number 1.

Lived in San Diego/Riverside, California area after A.F. retirement, then Warren, Michigan working with the Army as the item manager for a bridge on a tank body - the AVLB. Until retirement #2 in July 2009, at that time I was working for the Defense Logistics Agency work in the Wiesbaden, Germany area.

After retirement #2, had an extended 2-month vacation in Ürgup, Turkey, (hope to move back there someday). Settled back to living in Woonsocket, R.I. for most of the year. Have been keeping busy with side trips to local historical cemeteries and helping out at the historical society. Also a member of the Rhode Island Historical Cemetery Advisory Board. Founding member of the Rose Ferron Foundation of RI and currently an advisor to the Foundation and archivist.

Travel is a passion of mine and I manage to make it back to Europe at least twice a year for a month each time. Mostly Germany and Turkey with a side trip occasionally to Latvia. Have been limited tin traveling last few years due to health.

Get into genealogy in spurts but have always been fascinated by old cemeteries. Started taking pictures of family stones and then spread out to some of the older cemeteries in the Woonsocket/Cumberland RI area when I was visiting. Have documented a few in various areas of Germany, the Czech Republic, London, Albania, Latvia, Menorca, Spain, Poland, Morocco, and Turkey - "Have camera, will document".

If you have a relative within the 4 generations, direct line rule that I have added and would like to assume management of the page, let me know and will transfer to you.

Otherwise, all updates/corrections can be sent using the Edit/SAC process - any requests not using the Edit/SAC process will be deleted without action.

Guess that's me in a nutshell as of March 2023
