David was born in Waxahachie, Ellis County, Texas. All seven of his siblings were born there. If I can locate it, I have a picture of the house that they lived in while in Waxahachie. David's parents, Thomas William Hill and Mary Elizabeth "Mollie" Craig Hill came to Texas in 1892/93 - Ellis County. They were married 14 Feb 1897. The family moved to Dallas County sometime in the 1910-20 time period. David's sister, Sula, was my grandmother. If you would like further information on the family, please let me know.

I follow Find A Grave guidelines for transfer of memorials. Are there some links you would like me to make or some information you would like me to add to the memorial?

|Richard K Thompson||Snowden marriage information|
Thank you for letting me know the marriage date and location for Gideon and Ella Snowden, whose memorials I manage on behalf of Lyle Fulton. I've added a note onto their memorials about their marriage date and location.

I am the great niece of David Hill. I have family records, from his sister, Dollie Hill Wickham, which lists his name as William David Hill. I am not sure why he went as David D., but he did so for a long time. He worked for many years as a warehouseman, on the dock. Perhaps the name was acquired because he was called "Dock" for so long due to his occupation. No one in his family called him Dock, he was always, "David". I remember visiting him many times when he worked with his brother, Boyd, at the Nu-Grape plant in the Brookhollow area of Dallas. When I was a child, his youngest daughter was one of my beloved playmates. Although her name was not "Alice", I thought she was the epitome of "Alice in Wonderland", so fair and pretty.

I work mostly from census and death certificate information, but right now I am going through some of the old Lampasas newspapers for wedding, special party, obits and death announcements, so there may be more.
Im honored that you left a memorial message thanking my brother Kenneth Jelley for his service. My son is currently serving in the Navy and its refreshing to know there are those that care.
thank you again.
