Bio and Links
Bio Photo One of my main goals for 2017 will be to complete the 700+ entries added via spreadsheet for Rest Haven Cemetery. You are welcome to send edits but I will be completing these as I locate records to fill in the missing information, link families, and correct the dates of death which are currently listed from the cemetery records as dates of burial. Thank you for your patience.

PLEASE do not take my photos (family pictures or grave photos) and use elsewhere, especially Ancestry, without my permission. There's personal family photos I've never even uploaded to Ancestry but have ONLY placed on Find A Grave that have been taken and put on other's Ancestry trees, and they aren't even related to us!! Really??????

Much of my work is from "mowing the rows" in our local cemeteries or in those that are special to me when I get a chance to visit. I try to be very thorough in what I do post to this site. My favorite part of contributing to Find A Grave is walking the cemeteries and taking photos. I also utilize available records for my entries and hope to either photograph later myself or have other contributors photograph these graves, as I have photographed theirs. ACCURATE cemetery documentation is very important, and this is why I do what I do.
I love to research and link families, and add biographical information - please use the Edit tab and send me any information you would like to have added, and I will add based on the rules for bios set in the Find A Grave FAQ's, which includes rewriting obituary information facts so as not to violate copyright (pre-1923 obits excluded).
I transfer only within the four-generation
Find-A-Grave guidelines.
PLEASE carefully check the cemetery in which you want to list a memorial (it doesn't hurt to quickly check the county too) BEFORE you list it, as one may already exist for that person. Duplicate memorials for the same person, ("Dupes"), whether accidental or intentional, are not allowed by F-A-G. Duplicates erode the quality of this site and are problematic for many reasons. I will send you a friendly SAC if I see one.
It is very sad that quite a few contributors continue to misuse this site and post entries as permanent BURIAL UNKNOWN, both recent deaths and those 100 years ago or more.
This is Find A GRAVE, not a memorial site for generations of folks who have passed on and we do not know where they are buried, or for certain what happened to their remains.
I do not add entries for those with unknown dispositions (Burial Unknown) to Find A Grave. I also will not link my managed memorials to those without proper dispositions. Please do not link any BURIAL UNKNOWN entries to the memorials I manage; I will request the links to be removed if I become aware they have been linked.
PLEASE realize this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE, not a place for you to build your family tree :) If you do not know where the person was buried, or the final disposition of the remains, you should not be listing the person on FIND A GRAVE.
The most recent FAQ's regarding the purpose of this site:
What is Find A Grave?
Find a Grave's mission is to find, record
and present final disposition information
from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.

Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration
of the final disposition.
If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the
main mission, then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.

Find a Grave memorials may contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can
leave remembrances via ‘virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.

Find A Grave is a resource for anyone in finding the final disposition of family,
friends, and ‘famous' individuals.

Find A Grave is definitely a genealogical RESOURCE, but not a genealogical SITE..... There's a difference :)

Thanks for the transfer
Appreciate the grave transfer; if you'd like to correspond, you can find my email address on my profile page. In addition, I noticed your Buckner name and many Buckner graves -- the Kennerly's of Virginia were an "allied" family with the Buckners. You probably have the same info on the Buckner family that I do, but I always am willing to share.

RE: Unknown Gillespie Galloway
Found about 1100 multiple named "unknowns." Will take me a few days to change them all to just plain UNKNOWN in the last name space. Will let you know when I get done changing them all!

Thank you so much for putting my grandparents on find a grave. I was and to be honest am still very close to them. My uncle Horace was 2 when he passed. My MaMa, Etha, was pregnant with my uncle
Jack, Joseph Floyd, at the time. According to my dad, Wallace, who is still alive and the last remaining sibling, said that he was buried in the cemetery uptown Easley. My Papa, Claude, did not like the fact that he was close to the train tracks and said he would be scared so, when Greenlawn was established he bought plots and had him place there. Also, my Uncle Jake, JC, or James, depending on who you are talking to, died in July 9, 2009 and was buried in Arlington National Cemetery. He was 92. He was married to Margaret K. Siemens (not sure about last name) he met her in Germany in WW2. She is buried with him . Sge died in 2014.

Old Shelton postings
Hello K,

I read the 2 pages that ha discussion of Shelton line.
s far as I can tell, from reading online info, and historical items I found regarding battles they fought in, etc....I am not the best document person, looks like I descend from Solomon Shelton, son of George + Mary "Polly" [maiden name is thought to be Fleming0 dau. of David Fleming b. 1760 and Mary Elizabeth Shelton.

Solomon b. 3-31-1790 m. twice to sisters, which I am sure you already have all of this...I figured by what dates I located (merely to cross-reference and hang onto notes to help me) So, take it as possible help...Solomon m. Christiana McGuinn, and this is probably the same McGuinns that turn up in my Briggs line in TN (not looking at a map, but I think this part of NC was later TN).

I am a descendant of William Robert Briggs and Judith Wroe. If I know more about Sarah/Ursula Willard/Briggs, and how she was a Briggs, I may be able to give clues to the group. I also see trends really well. Briggs is my father's side, and Shelton/McCormick is my mother's side.
However, my parents lines cross so many times that I have collected a lot more notes.

Fletcher, Vardeman, other surnames I have, and I have listed an actual person named Vardaman Fletcher...probably goes in one of the connections discussed with Shelton family.

Solomon and Christiana's dau., Sarah Anderson
Shelton and James Washington Wilmeth as parents of Sarah Jane Wilmeth.

I have a m. date of 11-15-1848, Collin Co., TX for them. Their dau., Phoebe Anna "Annie" Reid, b. 7-16-1853, d. 9-15-1878. Our story is that she was part Cherokee, and Scottish, and usually the spelling of Reid is an indicator, as well.

"Annie (Reid) McCormick and George McCormick, Jr. are my gr-gr-grandparents, who lived in Denton, TX. Their dau., Alice McCormick is my gr-grandmother.

I am also a Reade at this general area, per George R. Reade, Esq. m. Margaret Willis (Warner/Washington lines.)
The latter, appear over and over, so, very tied to these 3 W surnames. :)

"Annie" Reid m. George McCormick, Jr, last of 15 children to George McCormick, Sr. and VIrginia Terrill. (same Warner/Willis/Washington group.

I have [Capt.] James Lawrence Reid [Read this time] b. 1828, TN, d. 1-16-1898, bur. Choctaw Corner Cem. in Clarke Co., AL.

RE: Hollis Williamson
Karyn, thanks for adding the information. His name as Walter Hollis Williamson was given to me in an interview with his sister-in-law Evelyne Hare Vinson and his nephew Thomas Frederick "Fred" Vinson on 27 May 2000. Like you, I have not found documentation.

RE: Giuseppe Randazzo
Hi, It's listed as haveing no entires. So I think I was successful in fixing the Randazzo listings. I did find another Antonio Randazzo, looks like a dup, in a cemetery called St Mathews? Not one I put in.
Thanks for your help,

I hope I got the email for correction out to the right email address. My bad, I don't spend as much time as I used to, using Find A Grave and getting thru to fix something is sometimes confusing. If there is something else I sould do, please let me know.
