Bio and Links
Bio Photo Simply enjoy genealogy and preserving history.

I make mistakes if you tell me, I will fix them.

If they are family, I will gladly transfer.

My aim is to honor the past. Items added to biographies are typically information I receive via email from unknown contributors and post to memorial. I do NOT fact check so take it for what it's worth...further research.

THE STORY TELLERS by unknown
We are the chosen. My feelings are, in each family, there is one who seems
called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live
again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and
approve. To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but,
instead, breathing life into all those who have gone before. We are the
storytellers of the tribe. All tribes have one.
We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before
cry out to us: Tell our story.

Sewall Jones Leach
Sewall Jones Leach and Elizabeth Fitts are my 4th great grandparents. Sewall Jones Leach was talked about a lot in Tuscaloosa Alabama at the time of the civil war. He had a factory that produced weapons and armor for the Confederate Army. A rumor that has been passed through my family is that Robert E Lee's helmet was manufactured by my 4th great grandfather's company. I haven't found anything to prove that it did or didn't come from my ancestor's factory, but it is an interesting possibility. My 3rd great grandparents (Sewall's daughter Emily Alston Leach and her husband James Slaughter Carpenter) had just been married and were in the middle of their wedding reception when the Union Army raided Tuscaloosa Alabama in 1865. This was the same raid in which the University was set on fire. My 3rd great grandparent's wedding was still being talked about in newspapers in Tuscaloosa Alabama 70 years later and is known as "the interrupted wedding."

Your page has Francis W Manning as child of Levi Marsh Fore. Actually he is Susan Melinda Fore Manning #2920211 child. Father is Darius Srong Manning. Francis' wife was indeed Letha
Jane Jetton, daughter of James S "jim" Jetton. Please if you can remove him as Levi Marsh Fore child. Thank you, Karen Jetton 47481998.

Cemetery number 1. A building with 1874 on the corner. No date of birth and I cannot find anything on ancestry. Is there any other records on this individual? Does the cemetery keep records?

Thanks
