Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello! I'm Robert (aka "Cenantua"), and I'm a native and resident of the Shenandoah Valley. I've spent a good deal of my life focused on history and the people in it, especially as it relates to my own people in the past. In my eyes, grave hunting and history have always been linked, and it may be that grave hunting actually led me deeper into my quest for expanding my knowledge and understanding of history and the people who played a part in it. Most of my entries or requests for changes of existing memorials in Find-a-Grave relate to my ancestors, relatives, or Civil War era interests.

Hower and Clear Spring
Hello Robert, as president of the Clear Spring Historical Assoc, I am amazed with your research on the Hower line. We publish a nice newsletter and we are always looking for photos and data. Currently, I needed a short story on a Clear Spring Confederate and that lead me to Francis Hower Pike and you. Hope we can talk sometime.

2999528 Clyde E Goin
Clyde's father was Nicholas Beauregard Goin born in Amherst co, Va. October 1861. Nicholas was my great grandfather. I am told he died in 1909 but I have never been able to find his death date or where he is buried. Mary Camilla was Nicholas' second wife. Thank you for all you do to help us find our loved ones. RE: Moore
I checked the Moore line for us and my son's Moore line Is James Moore 1624, his son Peter Moore 1706, Josiah Moore 1744, Mary Moore who married George Cater. Peter Moore and Benjamin Moore are brother's. My son's DNA had Scottish, English and Irish.

RE: Moore
What Moore line do you descent from? My son did the DNA testing since I married into the family. He has Irish in his DNA. Did you do it on Ancestry?

RE: Moore
Alexander's mother Elizabeth is a grand daughter of James thus making James my 6th great grandfather. We are all aware that Alexander was born out of wedlock and based on ydna testing his father was actually a Medley. My brother was also tested to re-enforce the Medley connection.

Thanks for creating the memorials for James and other family members. BTW, recently deceased Lt Gen Hal Moore was a descendant of Alexander through his son Gregory. I created a memorial for Gregory whose burial location has not been proven thus enabling Hal to be linked to Alexander but am waiting on Find A Grave to approve one more parent link to complete it.

E.A. Emerson
I would like to thank you for the information on E.A. After reading through some of the comments and information, I fear there may be some errant information presented. As his Great grandson, I am able to provide you with some updates. If interested please contact me. Or it might be better to add to or correct info here. Either way, the purpose is for genealogists not to follow the wrong trails. Thanks again.

Capt. Michael Shuler - 49018258
This is a beautiful narrative and tribute to Capt. Shuler. Thank you for the in-depth research on him, the campaign, and his leadership for the CSA. Well done in the true spirit of F-A-G.
