YOU Volunteer to get the Burial Plot.
I'LL Volunteer to get the photo.
-----------------------------
Hello All,
WEE talked me into this...and I've been having a great time taking headstone photos from France, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Easter Island, Saigon, Africa, Iceland, Greenland, and all over New England. Wherever I travel I check out the photo requests in that local Zip Code. Rather nice hobby that keeps me walking now that I am retired.

Please, Please, call the cemetery to get the burial plot.

Suggestions are appreciated.

DO NOT COPY ANYONE'S PHOTOS without asking for permission!!!

There are a number of memorials in Australia to the Montevideo Maru. I was interested in the panels on the Rabaul Memorial. Two thirds of the names commemorate service personnel lost on the Montevideo Maru. Panel No.35 includes the name of Warrant Officer James Fitzgerald Kelly RAAF lost on the Montevideo Maru. Many but not all of the names of the 2/22nd Australian Infantry Battalion on the Rabaul Memorial were for Montevideo Maru.

Thank you for the photo. I am embarrassed to say that I visited BITA PAKA WAR CEMETERY two years ago during a cruise. All I had time to photograph was the grave of Sefanaia Sukanaivalu VC, the only Fijian ever awarded the Victoria Cross. By the time I found it and took a photo it was time to go. Next time I will hire a taxi and stay all day. I was also disappointed not to have time to find the plaques commemorating the men lost on the Montevideo Maru.

Wilfred Goff
Hello Bob
Just a brief message to thank you for your trouble in recording Wilfred Goff's name on the Malta Memorial.
His relationship to me is pretty distant and through a second marriage. It is nevertheless nice to see this little piece of family history.
Thanks for volunteering!

You took and posted the photo for me on Cyrus Dallins memorial #28246064
His wife and son have their names on the SAME headstone which is this photo.
Do you mind attaching it also to their memorials? They are linked from this memorial. Thanks

Harold James Pannell
Hi Bob,
Thanks for the photo of Harold's memorial at Rabaul War Cemetery. I don't think it's necessary to add it to his wife's memorial as well as he is not buried there. I have noted that on her memorial and added him in the spouse link so it can be accessed. Thanks for thinking of her.

Would appreciate if I can use Harold's photo in my tree seeing as there is no actual grave.

Regards
Kerrie.
