Pam Weitzel
Knights of Liberty Cemetery
Hello, My name is Pam Weitzel and I am currently the cemetery coordinator for the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Boston. We are in Partnership with JewishGen.org to photograph and transcribe all the cemeteries before they are distroyed by either weather or Vandalism. I saw on Find A Grave, that you have taken many, if not all, the photographs of the Knights of Liberty Cemetery in Woburn. I don't want to redo all the good work you have already done. Would you be willing to download the pictures to us so we could transcribe them and save them at both places(Find A Grave and JewishGen)? You would get the crrdit for taking the photographs. With all the receint valdalism, we have a big push to get them saved and recorded.

Thanks,

Pam

RE: Jennie and Morris Freedman
Thank you so much! Again, we really appreciate it. We will keep an eye out and let you know if any others are under your account--we mostly get to work on this project when we have time off, so it's a slow process. We are not professional genealogists, but we've been researching my wife's family quite extensively as well. It's been amazing what we've been finding, especially as more records are becoming digitalized! Thank you again for your help, and we wish you lots of success with your research too!

RE: Jennie Freedman
Thank you so much! Yes, if you would be willing to transfer her and Morris Freedman's memorials to us, we would really appreciate it. We will have to check if there are others under your name--so far none that we can think of, but we keep stumbling on more connections. We will let you know in the future if we come across any. The family had spread over a lot of the Boston area, but didn't keep very good notes about who is precisely where, so we keep getting surprised as one grave leads us to others, generally through the Hebrew. It's sure been interesting! Again, thank you so much for your cooperation, and for taking such beautiful pictures. Your record actually helped us to find them when we found ourselves wandering around this cemetery at dusk, on the brink of darkness last summer--we were about to give up hope, but your record confirmed that we were in the right general area. So thank you for all you do!!

RE: Harry Miller
My family were Orthodox. My mother told me hers was the only Orthodox family in Providence when she was growing up. She lived across the street from a Ruth Katz who grew up to be a math teacher and was mean to me and other Orthodox students because we would miss school for the Jewish holidays. She bullied me so badly that I became too traumatized to study and one morning, I refused to go back to school. When my mother realized who was causing my night terrors, she called Mrs. Katz and gave her a piece of her mind. The next day in class, Mrs. Katz apologized to me and to the whole class. At the end of the year when I got the second highest score on the trigonometry exam, she called my mother to ask her if I cheated. My mother asked her who I could possibly have cheated from. The person who got the highest grade was also someone Mrs. Katz didn't appreciate. Funny, how you reminded me of that. I haven't thought of it in years.

Hi,
May I please post your marker photo for Max & Fannie on my family website? I would give you credit, of course.

Thanks.

Hi,

What do you find about the birth date that's not possible?

Not to worry about the extra messages ... I always blame the bifocals.

Record Error
Hi,

I've noticed what a record error -- easily made because of common names.

Rose Lakin Lakzinsky, 1887-1912. shttp://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=102175118&ref=acom husband was Louis Hurwitch (not William).

Here's Louis Hurwitch http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=102174874&ref=acom Showing link for second wife Rose Ida Stricker (died 1962)

William Hurwitch http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=102175193&ref=acom was married to Ida Rose Lakzinsky, 1878-1972.

Yes the Lakzinsky girls (my great aunts) were sisters (but haven't figure out figured if the Hurwitch men were brothers).

Thank you for your work!

Please let me know if I can provide more info.
