My main purpose is to document the last resting places of my and my wife's ancestors and also some of their close relations. My great desire is to add quality memorials (including full dates and locations, obit or bio, relationships, photos of person and grave marker, and marker inscription); not just quantity of memorials with little or no details.|
I inherited a wealth of information about my family tree from my mother who was our family genealogist. The black & white photos of grave markers that I have posted on Findagrave were taken by her in the 1960's. In some cases, these photos document stones that are no longer readable.

I just found you headstone photo on Ancestry.com and attached it to my ancestor -- Thanks. I get upset with the idiots who just copy and paste photos and give no location, source, nor credit, So I edited the photo to give pertinent details and credit. Then I saw you had previously left a comment. Anyhow, thanks and keep taking photos! Memorial # 29892251

Thank you for sharing the image of her grave stone. She is my 5th great grandmother. What a treasure!

You're very welcome, Happy to help out. Older section of the cemetery and pretty quiet but for airplanes out of Long Beach airport. They even trimmed around the markers - something often needed as the rotation seems determined by a dart board.

I am married to Ken Heindel, date of birth 1920, yes he is in good health. I drove Ken up to York two weeks ago and with your help and others I was able to find the little cemetery in the corn field. But what a time we had. I spoke to a distant relative that said the little school house had just recently been torn down. In fact, he said his great, great grandmother taught in that little school. I felt that I had reached the end of this family and what comfort. Someone is keeping the little cemetery up, is that you by chance. By Christoph's grave marker I saw a Revolutionary War service marker. Do you know anything about that. Ken's daughter still lives in York be we live in Florida.
Wld. love any other info you have.

You are very welcomed!
I do not believe those other people were correct in their statements! The Rules clearly state 'recent photographs'.
Unless they are living in the past, the 1960s (when the photo was taken) is not recent!
I also do not believe it was necessary to post in such a nasty way to you!
Find A Grave is supposed to be 'helpful' not 'hurtful'!
Please keep the memory of your Moms work & your relatives alive through Find A Grave!
I thought it was rather nice to be able to read the stone! The stone carver worked hard. & long to complete that stone for your relative! It was nice we were able to see what was originally stated!
And yes, I understand that techniques have changed over the years... People were told it was ok to chalk, shaving cream, etc to better help read worn stones. Now, that's not advised as the chemicals can damage the stones.
You can't scold your Mother for what she did back in the 1960s, AND PEOPLE SHOULD NOT SCOLD YOU OR ANYONE ELSE NOW,!!!
